Children’s Ministry
Our Mission
It is our desire to partner with parents to create an environment in which children can grow to be everything God intended them to be. A strong spiritual foundation, built on the timeless truth of God’s Word, will help them develop a trustworthy compass to guide them through today’s complex world.
Ministry Overview
Our Children’s Ministry operates during each weekend service at Shoreline Community Church. We serve children of all ages—from infants through the fifth grade. We offer identical presentations each service. All classrooms are staffed by thoroughly screened, trained and dedicated volunteers. A clean and safe environment is premier in our age appropriate classrooms that are specifically tailored to meet your childs spiritual, emotional and social needs.
PROGRAMS OVERVIEW:
NURSERY:
Our Nursery is available for babies aged 6 weeks to 12 months. Our primary purpose is to give love and care in a warm, safe environment while parents attend worship service.
ONE YEAR OLD:
Babies aged 12 months to 23 months are welcomed in our Ones Room. Our goal is to care for the children and share Jesus’ love with them.
TODDLERS:
In our Toddlers Room, children aged 23 months to 36 months are presented with age-appropriate games, songs and crafts to help them get excited about coming to church.
PRESCHOOL:
Our Preschool Rooms serve children aged 3 years to 5 years. Kids are lead through simple Bible presentations and hands-on activities that broaden their understanding of God and His place in their lives.
KINDERGARTEN / 1ST GRADE:
Children in our Kindergarten and First Grade Rooms continue to learn about who God is and how His Word gives meaning to their daily lives.
G-FORCE:
Our 2nd through 5th grade program—Generation For Christ in Excellence—is not about information, but transformation. We use a variety of curriculum resources which utilize audio and video segments and large and small group settings to teach God’s truth in ways that impact kids’ choices and actions.
DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES:
Offered to 4th and 5th graders during second service each Sunday, Walk Through the Bible is an Old and New Testament Bible study is aimed at helping kids deepen their relationship with God through a greater understanding of His Word. This program strives to awaken in the children a true love of Scripture and to inspire a lifetime of Bible study.
Please call Miss Dionne 484-5005 or Laura Selin 484-2055 for more information.

What is a Small Group?
>> A small group is a group of people who meet together on a regular basis to fellowship and encourage each other in their personal relationship with Christ.
>> The purpose of a small group is to create an atmosphere where long-lasting friendships can be developed and lives can be transformed. We all need support and encouragement to make it through life’s challenges. Small groups provide a perfect environment to do so.
>> We have small groups consisting of all ages and genders: Youth, Men, Women, Married Couples, Singles, Families & a combination.
>> Small groups generally meet in homes, providing a casual and relaxed atmosphere. They meet all over Monterey County: Salinas, Monterey, Pacific Grove, and Carmel.
>> Each small group has a different focus: Bible study, prayer, fellowship, marriage, Spiritual growth, finances, etc. The leaders are members of our church who have a strong passion for that specific area.
Why Join a Small Group?
>> Get Connected
Shoreline is a big church, and it is growing fast. Sometimes it is difficult to connect with people and build relationships. Small groups make our church feel smaller because they provide an avenue to connect with other believers. If you are not yet connected, we would like you to feel like you have a place to belong, as we all strive for maturity in Christ.
>> Develop Long-Lasting Friendships
In order to develop strong friendships with other believers, we have to spend time with each other. Unfortunately, there is not enough time during Sunday morning service to do so. By meeting during the week, we are able to connect and grow with fellow believers. With common beliefs and a common vision, the friendships you will get through a small group will stand the test of time. As Rick Warren said, “You cannot be what God made you to be, you cannot do what God created you to do… without other people… we were made for each other, God made us for a family.”
>> Experience a Life-Transforming Process
Small groups are where real needs get met in real ways. It is impossible for every person in our church to get their needs met through our pastors and staff. However, by empowering members in our church to lead small groups, they are able to meet you where you are at and care for your specific situation. This process of building relationships and building each other up in Christ causes our lives to be transformed.
