Hume Lake Update

June 30, 2008

We are now halfway through camp and things are going wonderfully. Last night was a turning point for many students who made decisions for Jesus. Today it has been a joy to follow up with them and discuss what their futures hold. Please continue to pray for our students and our amazing leaders. Our prayer is that as God has been working in the lives of our students, he will continue to do so. Thank you for your support and prayers.

Hume Lake Monday Update

June 23, 2008

Hey everyone were having a great time up here at Meadow Ranch @ Hume Lake. Our speaker this year is doing a great job presenting the basics of Christian Doctrine in a way that connects to the middle schoolers in a way they can grasp. Having such huge concepts presented in a way thats not watered down but simply explained at their level is a wonderful opportunity for these students. Click the link below for todays video update.

We made it to camp

June 23, 2008

After a long bus ride we made it to Hume Lake yesterday afternoon ready for an exciting week. Our theme for this year is “Rise of the Kinematics”. In this Robot themed week we will be following the ongoing story of the rise and fall of a robotic civilization. Through this theme we will be discussing the topics of God, Man, Christ, Justification, Discipleship, and Scripture. The goal is that the youth will walk away from camp with an understanding of these foundational principles of the Christian faith. The root scripture for the summer is 2 Timothy 4:1-5. The opening skits for Meadow Ranch and Ponderosa were full of dancing robots, smoke, and every color of laser I have ever seen (click the link below for video) and have set the energy level of full throttle right out of the gate. Hume has an incredible staff that spends there whole year preparing to present these amazing programs for our youth and we are already being blessed by their hard work. This is going to be another great week here at Hume Lake Christian Camp.

Check back soon for more updates!
