Exit Christmas Party
November 24, 2008
Dec 10th @ 6pm we will be having the Exit middle School Christmas Party!
Come out for a great time with games, dinner, and a movie. This year our entire evening will be themed after one of my favorite Christmas movies. The movie is a surprise but the line up for the evening isn’t. We will be watching the movie and playing games and eating food to follow along with all that happens in the movie. I am so excited to kick off my Christmas season with you and your family.
Please contact Pastor Andrew @ andrew@shorelinechurch.org if you are willing to bring christmas snacks.
More information to come soon!
Community Outreach Serve Saturdays
November 24, 2008
One of Community Outreach Ministries is an ongoing project called “Serve Saturdays” . We meet on the second Saturday of every month and either do a project here at church or out in the community. In the past we’ve cleaned parks, feed the homeless, worked at schools and shelters to name a few. Thirty-six people attended November’s project. Everyone worked as a team to complete Shoreline’s Garden Project, deliver 247 Operation Christmas Child boxes, set up our pantry and clothes closet, and clean the sanctuary. Take a look at some of our photos from the day here: Serve Saturdays To become involved in this or any of our ongoing ministry projects please email dfederico@shorelinechurch.org or jatwell@shorelinechurch.org or stop by our booth on Sundays.
Convalescent Home Visits
November 24, 2008
One of Shoreline Church’s Community Outreach Ministries is our monthly visit (3rd Saturday of every month) to Monterey Pines Convalescent Hospital. The dedicated volunteers spend time visiting and ministering to the elderly who are often very lonely and vulnerable. Take a look at some pictures of our November visit here: Convalescent Hospital Visit To join us in December or anytime email dfederico@shorelinechurch.org or jatwell@shorelinechurch.org or stop by the Community Outreach booth on Sundays!

Missions is Happening!
November 20, 2008
You may have noticed the large shipping container is gone from the back of the church. Praise God it is now resting in Oakland waiting for the first available boat to the Ivory Coast. As these things go it could take some time so please be in prayer for God to have his hand on this process.
On December 6 the Shoreline Guatemala team leaves for Pixabaj, Guatemala. Located in the Highlands far from any city, Pixabaj is at 8500 feet elevation and populated by starkly impoverished Mayan natives. Working in partnership with Out Post Ministries, this is Shoreline’s third trip to help build and equip the Christian school there. The Mayans must learn Spanish to have a chance at escaping the poverty that dominates their life. The school is Christ centered, teaches both Spanish and English to the children, who then go home to their village and teach the parents; the opposite of how teaching usually works! Children memorize Scripture, share Spanish and much more that they are learning with their parents which offers hope that wouldn’t be possible otherwise. Please be in prayer to support this team; we look forward to hearing their stories when they return on December 13th.
Listening is an art and a skill
November 20, 2008
Want to be a good listener? Try being more “interested” and less “interesting”. Some times we get so caught up in telling about ourselves that we can’t take in what’s going on in some else’s life. When you find yourself in a conversation try making it about them; ask questions built on the answer you just received to a question. Then ask another. Say simple things like “tell me more about that, or how are you handling that, or what does that feel like?” It’s easy when you get the hang of it and the speaker will sense your interest, which opens the door to being understood, which can lead to God using you to care for them and love them.

Shoreline Singles joins in on Operation Christmas Child
November 19, 2008
The Shoreline Singles group rolled up their sleeves and pitched in with the Operation Christmas Child program this year! Community Outreach Ministry Director, Debra Federico, spoke during Monday night’s study. Afterward, the Singles group helped box the Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts that have been so generously donated by Shoreline Community Church members and visitors over the past few Sundays. The boxes will travel to the Operation Christmas Child distribution center in Orange County, California and then on to children around the world!
Shoreline Singles Study is held on Monday nights in the church Fellowship Center at 6:30 p.m. More outreach projects are planned with the Shoreline Singles in 2009. For more information on Shoreline Singles, contact Pastor Dave Hopkins at 655.0100 or dhopkins@shorelinechurch.org.
