Dearest Brotha’s and Sista’s,
Last night’s potluck/brainstorming session was a complete success! There were lots of great ideas and the vision for 2009 was discussed.
2009 will be a very exciting year in our single adult ministry; we want anyone from all walks of life to feel safe, welcome, comfortable and encouraged by this ministry. This is not a dating service-type group and this will not be your run of the mill “singles” style experience. We are a vibrant, effective ministry of the church – filled with talented, enthusiastic, fun people walking this journey together as family – growing closer to God and fostering life long meaningful relationships!
We don’t want anyone to walk alone…Be Community….Be Connected….
If you have dropped out of this group or not checked it out for some reason…snap out of it, come back and enjoy the ride with your fellow travelers – YOU are an important part of this group! You have to be involved for this to fly!
Some of the things discussed last night:
- New series curriculum/topics/speakers
- New Monday night format (10 minutes worship /1/2 hr. large group series sermon-45 min. small group time, closing prayer and recap –then off to the movies or coffee)
- We’ll get involved in “adopt a family” & other community projects (we have a plan)
- We’ll get involved in Greeter & Usher service
- We’ve started a Steering Committee (are you interested?)
- We’ll participate in events/conferences
- We’ll develop an activities committee (some great ideas )
- We’ll re-name the group (any ideas?)
