motherofboysfeatured0Shoreline Community Church welcomes Sheri Rose Shepherd!

June 22nd – 6:30-8:30 pm

This timely message gives mothers the faith, wisdom and strength to raise a toddler or a teen to grow up to be a great husband and a man of his word…equipped to remain faithful and experience a happy and healthy family.

It’s true…a mother’s influence can change the success rate of the next generation’s marriages.

What a great gift to give to our sons!

The time is now to prepare our boys for victory.

We do not have to wait for the world to change its moral fiber to win this war against broken homes, broken hearts, infidelity and divorce. A mother is the first lady in her son’s life and her love and influence in her beloved boy’s life can help change the success rate of the next generation’s marriages and rebuild the foundation of family … one boy at a time.

Driving Force Week 6 TUESDAY

On May 25, 2009, in Children's Ministry (Anchor Bay), by Children's Ministry

df_logo_smalloTUESDAY REFLECT as a family on the lesson taught by referring to your child’s weekend service handout. Do one of the activities together as a family.

1) Try this experiment: First grab two pieces of clay that are about the same size. Roll one into a ball and smash the other one flat like a raft. Fill up a cup with water. Then place the ball of clay on the water. Next, try the flat piece of clay. What happened?
The flat piece floated and the ball sank. Why? Because the flat piece had more surface area for the water to push against. There’s no way according to science that a man should be able to walk on water. Unless the man is Jesus! Can you think of some other miracles that Jesus did? Remember- Jesus isn’t limited to the laws of science- he can do anything!!!

2) Look up the words “trust” and “doubt” in the dictionary. Discuss what they mean and why we can trust Jesus.

3) Memorize your Bible verse for this week Proverbs 3: 5-6. Show your parent’s the hand motions you learned in class.

Driving Force Week 6 MONDAY

On May 24, 2009, in Children's Ministry (Anchor Bay), by Children's Ministry

df_logo_smalloMONDAY READ the bible story together with your family. Look it up in Matthew 14: 22-35!

Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home. After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone. Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!” But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!” Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. Then the disciples worshiped him. “You really are the Son of God!” they exclaimed.

Driving Force Week 5 FRIDAY

On May 21, 2009, in Children's Ministry (Anchor Bay), by Children's Ministry

df_logo_smalloFRIDAY
RESPOND to what you have learned as a family this week by taking an action step! Here is an example of something you can do as a family to reinforce the bible theme for this week:
Bake some cookies for a neighbor.
Do something nice for someone, like, open up the door because their hands are full.
Bring in socks to donate to the clothing closet (so far the boys are winning!)
Invite a friend to come to church with you.
