Shoreline Community Church is teaming up with the Panetta Institute to assist with the Monterey County Reads Program. The Monterey County Reads program was established in 1997 to help children in Monterey County learn how to read. They accomplish this task by training and utilizing their volunteers in local after school reading programs in Carmel, Monterey Peninsula, North Monterey County, Salinas City Elementary, Santa Rita Union, Spreckels Union, Soledad, and San Antonio Union Unified School Districts.  In its first decade of assisting our community, the Monterey County Reads program had over 1,800 volunteers serve more than 85,000 hours of service—what an impact!
