iPhone and its uses

On November 5, 2009, in Production, by Shoreline Media

So all the iPhone users of the world love their phones and verizon users wish the had one…The thing for me that the iPhone has that no other phone has is this… Production Apps

1-Renewedvision Propresenter remote
I can trigger slides, media files, run a whole presentation from my phone

2-ETC irfr is a remote app that allows me to control our ETC ION lighting console, why may ask? Because if i am aiming lights from a lift I can trigger lights without the need of coming all the way down.

3-DOCS to go, I can have certain docs on my phone such as excel input lists and aviom layouts as well as stage plots, I can even edit the excel locally with out the need for a computer.

4-Planning Center Online has released an app with the same functionality of thir website in a smaller package, I can view, create, and edit schedules as well as make changes to service orders… It’s great.

Those are great apps among many that use the iPhone to make production life a bit easier.
after all this post was done entirely on my phone through an app.

  1. I also have the Bible on my iPhone, available to me wherever I happen to be.

On a side note, Android-based devices shouldn’t be entirely overlooked.

An alternative to Renewedvision Propresenter remote is RemoteDroid. Docs are available on Android phones as well. Since there are more phones which support Android, its marketplace of apps is growing. Also, apps don’t need to wait for approval before becoming available. If you want to write your own apps, you aren’t required to do so on a Mac.

In any case, it’s great to see the phone market maturing these days so that we all have access to information and control from a device we would already carry with us anyway. It’s also great to see such diversity in choices. And, of course, it’s great that it makes it easier to carry a Bible with us wherever we go.
