COMheader0Happy New Year from Community Outreach!

We wanted to let you know about two upcoming opportunities to serve to start off 2010 serving God!

womenshelterThe first opportunity is THIS Sunday, January 3rd from 7-8:30 pm. Shoreline’s Women’s Shelter Visits are a great way to encourage and befriend women in transition. Women who attend these events are consistently blessed by their time spent at the shelter.  See the Community Outreach booth on Sunday morning for details and directions.

The second opportunity is one the whole family can enjoy! January’s Serve Saturday will take place on Saturday, January 9th from 9 am -2 pm in the Fellowship Center. We will be making Valentine’s cards for delivery in late January for troops overseas and in February for local people who need a little love in their life.

On a separate note, Shoreline’s Food Pantry and Clothes Closet will be only be open on Tuesday, December 29th this week due to the New Year’s holiday.

For more information on these and other opportunities to serve, please contact Megan Huff or Debra Federico or call 831.655.0100 x338.

Anchor Bay Diving Deep #15

On December 27, 2009, in Children, Kids, by kids

This week’s question is: What if I don’t understand God?

Have you ever felt your life is unfair? Have you ever questioned God? Well, guess what, you’re not the only one! After all the terrible things that happened to Job he questioned God too. And guess what! God answered him with a few questions of his own! Read them in Job 38-41. GO AHEAD I DARE YOU!

Finished reading? Tough questions huh? Choose your favorite verse out of this passage, and draw a picture of what you read. Hang your picture in your room to remind you that God knows everything and can do everything.

No matter what happens, we don’t need to question God- whatever he has planned for his people is best!

High School Lock-In | January 8-9

On December 23, 2009, in C3 (High School), Students, by C3

Lock-In-Web-PostGet ready for the biggest event of the year: C3’s annual Lock In! This year we’re pulling out all the stops for this 12 hour 8pm-8am extravaganza. More games than ever before! Enough food to feed an army! Of course the thing on all of your minds, prizes. This year our grand prize is a Sony Playstation 3. But that’s not all! We will have tons of prizes to give away at the Lock In; Digital Cameras, iPods, Gift Cards, and more!

So, what does one have to do to partake in such an epic event? We’re glad you asked…
- Be a high school student
- Show up
- Play games
- Collect tickets
- Win prizes

That’s all there is to it. Now, for some important parent information: This is a 8pm-8am overnight event. There will be extra youth staff on board to help facilitate all the chaos that is bound to ensue. This is event is open to all high school students. The cost (we think you’ll like this part) is totally and 100% completely free.

Sign up on Sundays or Thursdays in the Youth Room.

For more information about this or any of our events, please contact our High School Program Director, Stephen Medina or 831.917.8754.
