Guatemala here we come! Missions Board Member John Houseman is leading a team of Shoreliners into Guatemala to continue the work on the Mayan school in the highland village of Pixabaj. Pastor Dennis will assist John and five other team members and there is room for a few more. This will be the sixth trip from Shoreline to Pixabaj, teams working with both the buildings and teaching in the Mayan children’s classrooms. The trip leaves February 27 and returns March 9, 2010.

The Mayan people are an oppressed population and extremely poor. The only chance the young people have to succeed is to acquire an education and learn Spanish. The school in Pixabaj is a Christian setting where these children learn Spanish, English, the 3 “Rs” and all about the love of Jesus.
