Testimonies

On April 11, 2011, in Celebrate Recovery, by Community Life and Growth Ministry

Just this past Thursday at Celebrate Recovery, Lisa Pray shared her powerful testimony! Many people were touched by her story and were reminded of God’s amazing love for us and His great power in our lives. Celebrate Recovery is a wonderful place to share what God has done in your own life. If you have been sober for at least one year and would like the opportunity to share your testimony at Celebrate Recovery, please email us at recovery@shorelinechurch.org.

Opportunity to Serve with Celebrate Recovery

On September 3, 2010, in Celebrate Recovery, by CelebrateRecovery

We want to extend to you the opportunity to serve with Celebrate Recovery! Serving is very rewarding and a truly great blessing. We believe that service is a very important part of the healing process.

The Bible tells us how important service is:

“And since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow: do as I have done to you.” – John 13:14-15

“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men.” – Ephesians 6:7

Please sign up or talk to the Recovery Leadership Team if you want to serve the Lord as well as your brothers and sisters in Christ. If you feel that you are gifted in any of the following areas and would like to serve in any of the following, we would love to talk with you:

-information table set-up
-greeting
-coffee & room set-up & tear-down
-lyrics operation (Thursday only)
-assistant tech (Thursday only)

We look forward to serving alongside of you!

Celebrate Recovery

On September 3, 2010, in Celebrate Recovery, by CelebrateRecovery

Hello brothers and sisters in Christ! We know that this last week at Celebrate Recovery was a tough one to get through. We encourage you to press forward! The rewards are so worth all of the hard work!

Here are a few scriptures for you to really meditate on over the next few weeks. Really allow God’s word to soak in and change your life.

“For God is at work within you, helping you to want to obey him, and then helping you do what he wants.” Philippians 2:13

“When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

“And it is he who will supply all your needs from his riches in glory, because of what Christ Jesus has done for us.” Philippians 4:19

“Jesus says, ‘I am with you always.’” Matthew 28:20

“All who are oppressed may come to him. He is a refuge for them in their times of trouble.” Psalm 9:9

“Yes, be bold and strong! Banish fear and doubt! For remember, the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

“This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

“Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.” 1 Peter 5:7

We hope that these scriptures build you up and help you move forward. We know that God’s word is alive and true! Allow the word to encourage and strengthen you! Keep fighting the good fight. We love you.

Celebrate Recovery Children’s Program

On May 25, 2010, in Celebrate Recovery, by CelebrateRecovery

If you are a regular member of our Celebrate Recovery program, we have a very exciting update regarding your children. In the fall, we are hoping to launch a Tuesday and Thursday evening recovery based children’s program called Celebration Station.

This program was created by the founder of Celebrate Recovery. He wanted a program that would prepare kids to deal with any kind of hurts, hang-ups, or habits that they may encounter through life. Like Celebrate Recovery, this program is based on the eight recovery principles found in the Beatitudes, so that your children will be learning the same verses that you are using in Celebrate Recovery. This group is meant to help break the cycle of dysfunction in children’s homes.

Please let us know if this is something that you would be interested in or if you have any questions. If we do not have enough expressed interest, we will not launch the program. Therefore, feedback on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Call or email the Connections Team at 831.655.0100 or recovery@shorelinechurch.org.
