LBLFWEB00It’s here! The Looking Back/Looking Forward celebration is this Saturday! Come and celebrate with Shoreline Community Church as we celebrate the past and cast vision for the future. It’s going to be a great family event! We hope to see you here!

Time: 12:00-3:00 p.m.

We still have volunteer opportunities for you to help make this event happen.  We need the most help during the 2nd shift from 1:00-2:15 p.m. Send us a quick e-mail to let us know if you are available to help.

Next Saturday, March 20th from 9:45-11:30 a.m. is our monthly Convalescent Visit.  Please join us for this great time of fellowship and worship with these deserving

Homeless Connect is just around the corner!  We are seeking volunteers to help us help them. This event takes place on Wednesday, March 24th from 10:00a.m-2:00p.m at the Monterey Adult School at 222 Casa Verde Way in Monterey.

We have many opportunities for you to help and be a blessing to others. Make sure to stop by the Community Outreach Booth this Sunday to learn more about all the serving opportunities available!

COMheader0Record Breaking Volunteer Turnout!

We had the biggest volunteer turnout that Shoreline Clean-Up day has ever had!  Many projects were completed. The Sanctuary was thoroughly cleaned and the Anchor Bay room was cleared out and is looking great.  Landscaping work as well as other projects throughout the building were completed. Many thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who came out and made a big difference in their home church.

women0Please consider coming this Sunday, March 7th to the Women’s Shelter visit from 7-8:30p.m.   It is a great opportunity to encourage and bless women who are in transition.  Please stop by the Community Outreach booth if you are interested on attending or would like further information.

The next Homeless Connect event takes place on Wednesday, March 24th at 10 a.m. at the Monterey Adult School at 222 Casa Verde Street in Monterey. This ministry event helps and encourages the homeless to get connected to the services they need. We are seeking volunteers to help us help them.

The Sea Otter Classic is looking for volunteers to help out with these world-renowned bicycle races. We have volunteered help them. We have various positions open during the week of April 12th-18th.

COMheader0What an amazing month of February it has been! We have come together as the body of Christ and have made a true positive impact in our community.

We deeply appreciate all of you who came out to the convalescent home visit this past Saturday afternoon and the women’s shelter visit on Sunday evening.  You gave your time and energy to touch the lives of those who greatly need and appreciate it. On behalf of everyone at the convalescent home and the women’s shelter, we would like to thank you for coming out and being the hands and feet of Jesus.  A very special thank you to Sandy Petricka and Abraham Wilson for coordinating these events.

Come out and be part of making your home church look as sharp looking as possible.  Shoreline needs all the help we can get to give the building all the love it deserves! This month we will be cleaning the Sanctuary, the Anchor Bay room as well as doing some landscaping work. Come out from 9:00a.m-2:00p.m this upcoming Saturday the 27th.  Meet us on the Youth Deck at 9:00am. Lunch will be provided.

Community Outreach Update for 2.16.10

COMheader0As usual, Community Outreach has been as busy as ever serving our community.  We wanted to let you know what’s going on with this dynamic ministry as well as how you can roll up your sleeves and get involved!

This past Saturday was February’s Serve Saturday. We shared God’s love for His people by handing out valentines to the residents of the Monterey Pines Convalescent Home, Gateway Center, the women’s shelter, Sunrise Senior Living Home, Windsor Monterey Care Center and several other locations. Everyone involved was so blessed. THANK YOU to those of you who helped with this great event.

IMG_93540Don’t forget that THIS Saturday, February 20th, is the monthly convalescent home visit. Join us for a time of fellowship and worship with these deserving people from 9:45-11:30 am.

The next evening, Sunday, February 21st from 7-8:30 pm is the second women’s shelter visit of the month. Please consider getting involved with this impacting ministry. Come and encourage these women in transition and be blessed yourself.

COMheader0Community Outreach is showing God’s love in action this month! We wanted to let YOU know what’s going on and how to get involved.

THANK YOU to everyone who showed up to the women’s shelter visit this past Sunday night! You are an encouragement and blessing to these women in transition.

servesaturdayTHIS Saturday, February 13, from 9 am-2 pm is February’s Serve Saturday. We will be delivering valentines to the residents of the Monterey Pines Convalescent Home and the Gateway Center in Pacific Grove. Please meet in the church parking lot at 9 am for this time of fellowship and love with these special people.

Join us NEXT Saturday for February’s convalescent home visit from 9:45-11:30 am at the Monterey Pines Convalescent Home. This is a fantastic time of fellowship and worship with these deserving children of God.

Another opportunity to serve people in transition is coming up next month. On Wednesday, March 24th at 10 am is Homeless Connect Monterey. This event helps connect people in transition with services they may require. Please let us know if this opportunity to serve appeals to you and we will give you more details.

Community Outreach Update for 2.3.10

COMheader0Community Outreach has TONS of opportunities to serve coming up and already going on.  We wanted to let you know what they are and how YOU can help make the work light for everyone.

THANK YOU to everyone who showed up to help out for Shoreline Clean-Up Day this past Saturday. You were such a blessing to our church body.  We were able to accomplish so much including a new paved side walkway, cleaning the sanctuary, moving furniture for the ministry fair on Sunday, organizing the men’s clothes and painting a room at the Women’s Shelter.

This Sunday, February 7th from 7-8:30 pm is our first of two visits to the Women’s Shelter for the month of February. Come and join us to encourage and empower these women in transition.  Contact us for more information on this opportunity to serve.

Speaking of the Women’s Shelter, our Benevolence & Hope Team has adopted a room to give some much-needed refurbishment. This project has a pretty hefty price tag, so we are looking for some financial assistance. If you would like to donate to this project, please let us know. We have items you can “sponsor” by donating anywhere from $5-$50.

DON’T FORGET: next Saturday, February 13th from 9 am-2 pm is February’s Serve Saturday where we will be sharing God’s love by distributing valentines to various locations around Monterey County. Meet in the church parking lot at 9 am.

COMheader0Shoreline Community Outreach wants to let you know what opportunities to serve are available around our community. We have a lot going on and we wanted to keep you informed.

shorelinelogoBlackWEB0Coming up THIS Saturday, January 30th , is Shoreline Clean-Up Day from 9 am- 2pm which helps us clean and maintain the facility for both visitors & members alike.  If you are able to help, please show up here at the church at 9 am.

As the year progresses, we learn of more and more opportunities to serve our surrounding community.  One of these opportunities is the opportunity to bless the residents of the women’s shelter we visit twice a month.  We have been asked to help refurbish a room of the house with the blessing of our Benevolence & Hope team. If you would like to donate to this project, please let us know.

Another opportunity coming our way soon is the Sea Otter Classic.  We are looking for volunteers for various activities helping out with these bicycle races. There are shifts from April 12th-18th and the shifts are 7 am-12 pm and 12 pm-6 pm.

Outreach Update for 1.19.10

COMheader0Community Outreach is as busy as ever serving our surrounding community & we wanted to let you know what’s going on with this thriving & dynamic ministry.

This past weekend we were able to bless two areas of our community with a Convalescent Home visit & a Women’s Shelter visit.  THANK YOU to all of the wonderful volunteers with hearts of gold for these deserving people in our community. You are a true blessing to those around you.

This weekend there are no Shoreline-sponsored events but there are two organizations which we support that are having events.  The first of these events is an “All Women’s Ball” with all proceeds going to the Women’s Shelter which we visit.

TCHSThe second is an open house at the newly-established Trinity Christian High School. If you have a high schooler and are looking to give them a quality, Christian education, please consider attending this event on Saturday, January 23rd from 2-4 pm on their campus.

Next Saturday, January 30th, from 9 am-2 pm is the first Shoreline Clean-Up Day for 2010. Join us at Shoreline for some “inreach” as we clean & maintain the church facilities for both visitors & members alike.

COMheader0We just wanted to let you know what’s going on with Shoreline’s Community Outreach ministry.

We had a spectacular Serve Saturday this past Saturday making valentines for the troops overseas and the un-churched of Monterey County. Be on the lookout for details about delivery of these valentines coming your way soon. THANK YOU to everyone who was involved.

elderly-helping-hand0Coming up THIS Saturday, January 16th, is our first convalescent home visit of the year. Pastors Keith and Andrew will join us as we fellowship and worship with these deserving people.  Meet in the parking lot of the Monterey Pines Convalescent Home at 9:45 am for prayer.

This Sunday, January 17th is our next Women’s Shelter visit. Come encourage and empower these women in transition at 7 pm on Sunday night. Directions to the women’s shelter are available at the Community Outreach booth or by replying to this email.  If you are interested in helping to re-decorate some rooms of the Women’s Shelter, please call or email.

Speaking of women, the women of Community Outreach have been invited to the All Women’s Ball benefitting the women’s shelter we visit. This event will take place on Friday, January 22nd from 8-11 pm. Contact us for further information.

COMheader0Happy 2010 from Community Outreach! It is our prayer that you are enjoying the first part of the new year and getting back in to a post-holiday season routine.  We wanted to let you know about upcoming opportunities to serve.

First of all, THANK YOU to the visitors to the Women’s Shelter last night. You are a huge blessing to Shoreline and those around you.

Don’t forget that THIS Saturday, January 9th from 9 am-2 pm is January’s Serve Saturday. We will be making Valentine’s Day cards for troops overseas as well as the “unloved” of Monterey County in the Fellowship Center.  Come be a part of love in action!
