Please Note: The date for the Care Center Visit in last Sundays bulletin was incorrect, it will not be the 24th. Your next chance to be blessed by the residents will be on October 1st.

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND:

  • I-Help, Friday, September 23rd and Saturday, September 24th
    Please pray for the men of I-Help to find the path that God has planned for them. Pray also that the fellowship that we share with them during dinner and breakfast will open their hearts to Jesus.

 BLESS OUR LOCAL SCHOOLS – We are still looking for bakers to bake a platter of cookies. We have 7 schools left in the MPUSD that we want to thank and encourage the teachers and staff for this semester. If you can help, please contact Sharon Burwell at 831.655.0100, x302 or Sharon Burwell or sign up at the Community Outreach Booth this Sunday. Thank you!

FOOD DONATION ALERT – The Food Pantry is in great need of Beef Stew and Chili Beans. If you are able to donate either one of these items, please drop them off at the Community Outreach Booth.

WHAT’S HAPPENING NEXT MONTH:

  • CHOMP Blood Drive, Sunday, October 2nd 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
    CHOMP is asking us once again to have a much needed Blood Drive. If you are able to and would like to help save a life, please sign up at the Community Outreach Booth.
  • Operation Christmas Child, Sunday, October 2nd
    Bless children in third world countries with shoeboxes filled with new toys, school supplies and hygiene items. Don’t forget to include your $7 donation for shipping. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
  • Cypress Ridge and Windsor Monterey Care Center Visits, Saturday, September 17th
    Thank you for your heart to want to minister and love the residents of the Care Centers. Although this ministry may be difficult for some people, you prove that it can bring joy to both the residents and you.
  • Women’s Shelter Visit, Sunday, September 18th
    Thank you for making the “Shunning” movie night, complete with popcorn, drinks and Twizzlers, fun for the women. We know their life is hard right now and any ray of sunshine from God that you can give them means a lot. Bless you for your hearts!
ORGANIC OUTREACH CONFERENCE, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10TH – SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH
The conference will include:

  • Five main sessions led by national leaders in outreach
  • Ten highly practical break-out sessions (you pick two) 
  • Great worship music and times of praise
  • Three meals
  • A free copy of the book, Organic Outreach for Ordinary People
  • Time for networking with like-minded believers
  • Huge fun… with a non-threatening game at each main session that will lead to five churches winning an amazing evangelism library from Zondervan publishing!

Community Outreach News – Week of 8.29.11

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND:

-Cypress Ridge Care Center Visit, Saturday, September 3rd 9:45 – 11:30 a.m.
Come join us as we share Jesus with the residents. They really love children and people friendly pets, so if you have either of those, please consider bringing them to the Care Center and see the smiles that they bring to the residents and staff. It is so heartfelt!

-Women’s Shelter Visit, Sunday, September 4th 7 – 8:30 p.m.
This Sunday we will be sharing life experiences with the women at Hamilton House. If you have a good ear for listening or would like to share some of your stories, please join us!

-BLESS OUR LOCAL SCHOOLS – We are looking for bakers to bake a platter of cookies for all of the MPUSD and private schools in Monterey. -Triathlon at Pacific Grove, Friday, September 9th – Sunday, September 11th
On top of having fun you will receive a Triathlon t-shirt and of course there will be food, so if you haven’t signed up to help, we still need volunteers to serve at the Triathlon! If you would like to help in registration at this great event, here are the times we need volunteers – PLEASE NOTE THAT TIMES HAVE CHANGED:

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We so appreciate the time and heart you give to the men to make them feel at home in our house. From setting up the clothes and toiletries, to cooking them dinner, to serving them and spending time talking with them, to making them breakfast, to praying with them, we know they leave here feeling loved. Thank you so much for helping these men know God’s love.

-Pasta with the Pastors (Salinas), Saturday, August 27th
The 19th Annual Benefit for I-Help was very successful with fun had by everyone and lots of food. Please put this event on your bucket list for next year, you will not only have a good time but you will be helping a very worthwhile project.

“If it is to be, it’s up to me” Mayor Cory Booker (Global Leadership Summit)

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND:

  • Cypress Ridge and Windsor Monterey Care Center Visits, Saturday, August 20th 9:45-11:30 a.m.
    Join us at the Care Centers as we spread some love and the Word of God around. Help to make a residents day by giving them some attention and a smile! Meet in the parking lot of Cypress Ridge @ 9:45 a.m.
  • Women’s Shelter Visit, Sunday, August 21st 7-8:30 p.m.
    B-I-N-G-O Yes, it’s bingo night again at Hamilton House! Come join us as we share our love with the women and show them how to have fun. Who knows, you might win a prize. Yea!

HEART TO HOME – we are blessed with a ministry that helps women that are leaving the shelter or people in need, to set up their apartments with household items, beds, couches, kitchen tables/chairs, etc. We are pleased to announce that Jerelle Cockerham will be one of the Coordinators for this ministry. We are still looking for someone else with a heart like Jesus to help Jerelle coordinate this very worthwhile ministry. If you are interested in helping to coordinate, have a truck and could help move items, or would like to donate furniture or household items (must be in good condition), please contact Debra Federico at dfederico@shorelinechurch.org or 831.655.0100, x312.

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS MONTH:

  • Pasta with the Pastor’s (Salinas), Saturday, August 27th 5-7 p.m.
    The 19th Annual Benefit for I-Help will be held at Northminster Presbyterian
    Church, 315 Alvin Dr. This is an all you can eat event with silent auction. Our local clergy will serve the meals. Tickets are on sale at the Community Outreach Booth, $12 for adults and $5 for children under 10 years. Shoreline is being asked to make desserts for this event. If you would be able to help, please contact Sharon Burwell or call 831.655.0100, x302. Thank you!

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS MONTH:

  • Pasta with the Pastors (Salinas), Saturday, August 27th 5-7 p.m.
    The 19th Annual Benefit for I-Help will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 315 Alvin Dr. This is an all you can eat event with silent auction. Our local clergy will serve the meals. Tickets are on sale at the Community Outreach Booth, $12 for adults and $5 for children under 10 yrs. Shoreline is being asked to make desserts for this event. If you would be able to help, please contact Sharon Burwell or 831.655.0100, x302. Thank you!

Have you thanked Jesus today for dying on the cross so that your sins would be forgiven?

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND:

  • Cypress Care Center Visit, Saturday, August 6th 9:45 – 11:30 a.m.
    Come join us as we share some love and Jesus with the residents of Cypress Ridge. If you have children or a friendly pet, bring them along also and see the residents brighten up as they interact with them. It is such a gift to them to see young ones, since they rarely get the opportunity!
  • Women’s Shelter Visit, Sunday, August 7th 7 – 8:30 p.m.
    If you like making jewelry, don’t miss this night of fun! Sandy Petricka will be teaching the women to make necklaces, bracelets, earrings and more. Come help as we show these women a way to relax and have fun.
