Have you ever grabbed the extras and taken them home with you because you knew they would be handy the next time you travel somewhere? Well, the Bible has some wonderful “Travel Size Truths” you can tuck away in your heart and have handy at any time as you journey through life. These short stories that speak powerfully to our daily lives are called Parables. Join us this summer for an inspiring and practical sermon series called, “Travel Size Truths.”

Double Take – Fun with Deuteronomy
Have you ever seen something and done a double take? You stop and look again. You find yourself thinking, did I just see what I think I saw? Have you ever heard or read something and done a mental double take, did I just hear what I think I heard? Well, sometimes God says things that cause us to do a double take! God’s ways are so different than ours that some of God’s statements can be confusing, surprising, or seem just plain weird. Join us as we dig into some of the biblical teaching that might cause you to say, “Did I just hear that?”

Stuff God Wants You to Know
Imagine you could sit down in a coffee shop or cafe with God and have an honest conversation. What would you say to Him? What questions would you ask? Maybe most importantly, what would God say to you? This Easter season we will invite you to listen and see what God has to say to you about some of the most important stuff in the world! What do you need to know about yourself, about Jesus, about your heavenly Father, about this world we live in, and about eternity? In a world where we tend to be overcautious about nearly everything, it’s no surprise that our obsession with safety can carry over to how we live our faith in the world. But God doesn’t want us to play it safe. This energizing 8-week series challenges you to count the cost, take a chance, and live a reckless faith for the entire world to see. You’ll discover how to be reckless in your love, generosity, service, relationships, prayers, and speech.

As we come to the close of our study through The Story, we want to respond with thankful hearts. On Sunday, November 18 we will reflect on what it means to live a thankful life. On Sunday, November 25 we will look at the temptation to forget how good God has been and missed opportunities to be thankful. In addition, we will have a special Thanksgiving Eve Night of Worship communion service on Wednesday, November 21 at 6:30. Join us for all of these services as we lift up thanks to the God of the Upper Story who leads us every step of our journey!
