Last Sunday morning the middle school group began a new series called Peter – Rock in the Rough. Over the next four Sunday mornings we will be exploring the life of Peter. Beginning with his decision to follow Christ through the end of his life we will see clear examples of why Jesus called Peter the Rock. To Jesus, Peter was the Rock, an unstable guy with one solid quality – he responded to the Lord’s leading in big ways. This series will encourage your middle schooler that just like Peter, despite their failings and their faults, they can be a rock in the kingdom of God. Make sure your student doesn’t miss this challenging series brought by Pastor Andrew.

This week we are meeting at Habaneros again, for those of you who haven’t come any of the previous weeks, the location is down below. Andrew is going to be leading the discussion this week following what we are talking about in the main service, prayer. Here are some of the passages we will be looking at:
Matthew 6:7
Matthew 18:19-20
Romans 8:26
James 5:16
Psalms 4
After reading through each of these passages we will be talking about how prayer is presented and how it relates to our own prayer lives. As you get ready to talk about this topic, think about the various ways that you were taught to pray and some other ways that you have seen people pray. I hope by the end of our discussion everyone will have more direction in their own prayer time. See you there tomorrow!
Where: 400 Tyler Street, Monterey, Ca 93940
When: 8:00 pm on Tuesday 3/1/11
What to bring: Bible and money if you want food

The Exit Middle School will be visiting the Monterey Pines Convalescent Home this saturday, March 5th. We’ll be meeting at 9am at Shoreline and following Danny and Jenn over to the home for those who don’t know exactly were it’s located. However, if you do know where it’s at, the event doesn’t officially start until 9:30am, so feel free to meet us there. This visit will give us an opportunity to reach out to our elders in our community who may not experience visits that often. Our time spent there sends a clear message of God’s love and how much people care about them and it also gives our young people a chance to give back. So come and be part of something special . It’ll mean so much! Not to mention we’ll have a lot of fun spending time as a youth group as well!
Students will be picked up at Monterey Pines Convalescent Home (1501 Skyline Drive Monterey, CA 93940-4198)
Date: March 5th
Time: 9-11:30 am
