ALL JULY: BACK-TO-SCHOOL BACKPACK DRIVE

On July 1, 2009, in Community Outreach, by CommunityOutreach

ALL JULY: BACK-TO-SCHOOL BACKPACK DRIVE

back-to-schoolRuler: $0.60
Mead #2 Pencils: $1.99
Kids’ Scissors: $2.99
2-inch Binder: $4.99
Jansport Backpack: $29.99

Sending a child to school prepared = Priceless.

July is the month of preparation for the steadily-coming August back-to-school craze, and Shoreline Community Outreach is throwing a back-to-school drive, which will provide for the needs of these less fortunate children, enabling them to start school prepared to learn.

As you shop for school supplies for your own kids, we ask that you simply pick up some extras for these needy children as well. This is a huge way we can bless many families in our own community by giving back some of what we’ve been graciously given. We are asking for donations of NEW or SLIGHTLY USED backpacks, and other classroom essentials: pens, paper, scissors, glue, rulers, binders, etc. You can drop off the backpacks in the large bins in the lobby at ANY TIME Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or on Sundays. The list of school supplies needed is posted below.
We appreciate your willingness to come alongside us in these difficult times for everyone and still give a portion of what we’ve been given by the Lord. If everyone contributed only one thing on this list, we would have plenty. These are the ways we can be the hands and feet of Christ to the world, starting with our own community, in a real and tangible way.

For any more information on the Back-To-School Backpack Drive, come to the booth on Sunday between services, call the church at 831-655-0100 or email Deb Federico at dfederico@shorelinechurch.orgbackpack
