LOOKING BACK/LOOKING FORWARD

The Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever!

Reading for the Week of March 14-20

Day 1- Psalm 144 and Psalm 145
Day 2- Psalm 146 and Psalm 147
Day 3- Psalm 148, 149 and 150
Day 4- Matthew 26
Day 5- Matthew 27
Day 6- Matthew 28
Bonus- Read 1 Corinthians chapter 15 each day

Memorize/Reflect- “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

Reflection- How has my life changed for the better since I entered a relationship with Jesus?

Discussion- How does the presence of the risen Jesus Christ impact one of the following parts of your life? (How you view the future, how you treat people, how you use your finances, how you spend your time)

Prayer Direction- Thank Jesus for His life, death, and resurrection.  Pray for the power and presence of the risen Christ to fill your heart and life.

“Live It!” Challenge- As we come to the end of the Looking Back and Looking Forward focus here at Shoreline Church, ask yourself, how will Shoreline be a stronger church five years from now because I am part of it?  If you can’t think of any way your life will impact the health of Shoreline, pray about how you can engage in the work God is doing in and through Shoreline in the coming months.

March Prayer Focus- Praying in Power.  Continue praying against Satan’s strongholds and, in the power of Jesus’ Name, ask God to break them down.  In particular, pray against the ways the enemy tries to steal our joy and passion for Jesus.

January-March- Continue trying new ways of fasting that will drive you to prayer and make you hunger more for God?

What’s new in the Community Outreach Ministry

On May 14, 2009, in Community Outreach, by CommunityOutreach

Community Outreach Ministry is very busy this spring.  A big thank you to all the volunteers, without you all none of this would be possible.

  • Rebuilding Together: Over 45+  Shoreliners came together to help restore a home for a Monterey couple facing serious health issues.
  • Community Outreach  participated in the the Job Resources Fair put on by the church.  It was a huge success for our first event of this kind.  Nearly 500 people attended and were exposed to Shoreline Church.

UPCOMING:

  • We are having our ANNUAL Shoreline Work Day Sunday, May 30 from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. There will be a special lunch for all workers.  Any questions contact dfederico@shorelinechurch.org or sign-up at the Community Outreach booth on Sunday.
  • We’re also taking sign-ups for Serve Saturday when we will be cleaning La Mirada Park in Monterey. This event will take place on  June 13 from  9:00 a.m. to  2:00 p.m.
  • As always, we have our bi-monthly visit to the Women’s Shelter in Seaside and our visit to the Convalescent Home every month.
