WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND:
- I-Help, Friday, September 23rd and Saturday, September 24th
Please pray for the men of I-Help to find the path that God has planned for them. Pray also that the fellowship that we share with them during dinner and breakfast will open their hearts to Jesus.
BLESS OUR LOCAL SCHOOLS – We are still looking for bakers to bake a platter of cookies. We have 7 schools left in the MPUSD that we want to thank and encourage the teachers and staff for this semester. FOOD DONATION ALERT – The Food Pantry is in great need of Beef Stew and Chili Beans. If you are able to donate either one of these items, please drop them off at the Community Outreach Booth.

Thank you for making the “Shunning” movie night, complete with popcorn, drinks and Twizzlers, fun for the women. We know their life is hard right now and any ray of sunshine from God that you can give them means a lot. Bless you for your hearts!
The conference will include:
- Five main sessions led by national leaders in outreach
- Ten highly practical break-out sessions (you pick two)
- Great worship music and times of praise
- Three meals
- A free copy of the book, Organic Outreach for Ordinary People
- Time for networking with like-minded believers
- Huge fun… with a non-threatening game at each main session that will lead to five churches winning an amazing evangelism library from Zondervan publishing!

We wanted to thank all or you for giving your time and heart to be with the residents last Saturday. Sharing the word of Jesus, listening to their stories and just loving on them, brings such joy into their lives. God has sent angels in the form of all of you! - CHOMP Blood Drive, May 22nd
To those of you that donated blood we want to THANK YOU. It can be a difficult thing to do and you all gave with your heart. God has blessed us with you and you have bless someone with your blood.

“Thank you” to all of you who have donated food, we really appreciate it! You have helped feed over 400 people this month. If you can donate, our needs are: dried beans and rice (we are totally out of these), soup, canned vegetables, canned fruits, canned chicken, beef stew, canned tuna, pasta and pasta sauce.

Friday night we will be giving the men food, clothing, a place to sleep and of course sharing Jesus with them. Saturday we will be preparing them breakfast and a sack lunch to take with them. Please pray that in touching their lives we can help them to know Jesus Christ.

- Annual Backpack and School Supply Drive, Now thru June
Our backpack drive has begun and the need has increased. Every child deserves to go to school prepared to learn, so let’s do our part to make that happen. Please place your donated items in the barrels. Thank you to Lisa Pray who volunteered to be the coordinator of this project. If you would like to help her out, please give us a call.
WHAT’S HAPPENING NEXT MONTH:
- “Get on the Bus”, June 18th
We will be sponsoring a bus of children that will be going to Soledad Prison to visit their Dad’s for Father’s Day. It will be our responsibility to supply them with a “stay connected bag” with things in it such as disposable cameras, pens, boxes of note cards with envelopes, construction paper, boxes of crayons, postage stamps,etc. These things will be used to help the kids stay connected to their Dad’s by allowing them to send them letters, pictures, handmade cards and such. These children have a difficult life and we are so glad that God has given us the opportunity to give them some love.

A “Thank you” to all of those that served at I-Help this last Friday night and Saturday morning! Many of the men attended Good Friday service. Let’s all pray that these men will seek God for guidance in their lives.
FOOD DONATIONS URGENTLY NEEDED
A statistic that might help you understand why we need so many donations, the Food Pantry served 437 people last month. Realize that the Food Pantry is only open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-2:30 p.m. So yes, we are still in urgent need of canned meats, such as chicken, tuna, roast beef or salmon. Also beef stew, chili, canned beans and breakfast cereal. We so appreciate all of the donations you have given, Thank you!
WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND:

We will be hosting I-Help again this Friday night/ Saturday morning. Serving them dinner & breakfast and giving them a warm place to sleep, is God’s gift to us. What a heartfelt gift it is! - Women’s Shelter Visit, Sunday May 1st
It’s “Bingo Night”. Come pray with the women, as their needs are many. Then have some fun playing Bingo. Maybe you will win a prize!

They will be praying for the pastors, for the message of the day, for everyone’s hearts and minds to be open, for all to hear & receive Christ, for the Children’s Ministry, for Jerusalem, for prayers on the prayer list and for any other needs that the Holy spirit leads us to pray about.
WHAT’S HAPPENING NEXT MONTH:
- Rebuilding Together May 7th 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Come help us as we restore a home & heart of a single mother with 4 children. Bring any tools, paintbrushes, cleaning items, etc. that you might have around the house. Lunch will be served. - Easter Egg Stuffing, Family Fun Event
A big thank you to Mila Wight , Michele Arellano, Dave Layus, Jane Shaffer-MacDonald, Dennis Brown, Julie Pierce, Sandy Petricka, Kecia Denk and Rick Simek for their help putting on this event. This was a fun day for the families as they stuffed Easter Eggs for the migrant worker’s children, Convalescent Home, Women’s Shelter and Gateway Center. The children enjoyed games and Easter activities. Mrs. Nancy Costello came to share about what she does in her ministry. We pray that this Shoreline event will impact our community with God’s Word and Love. See our photos on Flickr. - Bags of Hope Kick Off April 10th
Thank you to Jim Clark and the Awana students for helping sell the “Bags of Hope” this past Sunday. We also want to acknowledge the Jr. High and their leaders for putting them together. We sold over 100 bags, our goal is 500. The bags will be available for purchase at the Community Outreach booth for $2 each, then go out and share your “Hope” with a person in need.

Women’s Shelter Visit Come join Candy Thomas as she portrays the women of the Bible in drama for the residents at the shelter.

Monterey Pines Convalescent Home Visit ( meet in the parking lot)
If you haven’t had a chance to share some love and scriptures with the residents of Monterey Pines, come this Saturday and see how God touches your heart with the love these people give you in return. - Sunday April 17th
Women’s Shelter Visit Come join Candy Thomas as she portrays the women of the Bible in drama for the residents at the shelter.
WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS MONTH:
- I-Help
We will be hosting I-Help April 22nd and April 29th this month. Let’s pray that these men find their way back to God.
WHAT’S HAPPENING NEXT MONTH:
- Rebuilding Together May 7th 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Come help us as we restore a home & heart of a single mother with 4 children. Bring any tools , paintbrushes, cleaning items, etc. that you might have around the house. Lunch will be served. If you would like to give your heart and help, sign up at the Community Outreach Booth. - CHOMP Blood Drive May 22nd
If you would like to donate blood before or after service, please sign up and pick up your paperwork on May 8th at the Community Outreach Booth. - Annual Backpack and School Supply Drive
Our annual drive starts May 22nd, and the need has increased dramatically from last year. Every child deserves to go to school prepared to learn, so let’s do our part to make that happen.
