WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
A TREMENDOUS THANK-YOU to all the wonderful volunteers who offered their time, creativity, and efforts to make our Shoreline Halloween Family Festival a fantastic event. We had an amazing turn-out, and were able to introduce many people to our church family, show them around the building, and talk to them about what God is doing here! You all made this possible! URGENT NEED – Shoreline Food Pantry
(Thank you for responding, please continue to see what you can give!)

THANK YOU thank you to everyone who brought in food for the food pantry this last week. The result of your giving was AMAZING. It is possibly the first time we have ever had our shelves this full from donations ALONE; usually our Food Pantry coordinator, Bob Peters, has to go to the Monterey County Food Bank and get food from them. However, as times are tough for everyone, their shelves have been empty as well. So… our church family stepped it up, and the result was wonderful. However, within a couple of weeks, most of it will be gone again, and people will go hungry. So, to reiterate what Kevin said on Sunday, let us not forget how privileged we are. Before you leave for church, we encourage you to open up your own food cabinets, look inside, and realize how blessed we are to have them even somewhat filled! Then, if the Lord moves your heart to do so, grab a can or two, bring it to church with you, and drop it in our food pantry bin. All the while, remember that you are giving of what the Lord’s already graciously given you. Or even take the next step further, and next time you are out grocery shopping, pick up one extra of a few items you buy for your own family. If everyone in our church did this, only a couple Sundays a month, our pantry would be stocked! Let’s not forget how blessed we are, and pray about how we can give of what we have to bless others.

CONVALESCENT HOME VISIT
THIS Saturday, November 6^th is our visit to the Monterey Pines Convalescent Home. We will be there from 9:45-11:30 a.m. to fellowship and minister to our elderly friends. If you would like to join us, feel free to meet us there! The address is 1501 Skyline Drive Monterey, CA 93940.

WOMEN’S SHELTER VISIT
This coming Sunday evening, November 7^th, we will be visiting the Women’s Shelter from 7:00-8:30pm. If you are a woman with a heart other women, please come join us as we fellowship with and encourage women who are in transition.

UPCOMING EVENTS

November 13^th Serve Saturday – Placemat Making!
This Novemeber’s Serve Saturday we’ll be making placemats for the Thanksgiving celebration at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. This fun an family-friendly affair takes place on the 13^th of this month, from 9am-2pm in the Fellowship Center (room 1108). However, if we have as great of a turn-out as we did last year, we can get the placemats made in a much shorter time! If you’re interested in participating in this fun, crafty event, please sign up at the Connections Center or the Community Outreach Booth on Sunday!

Convalescent Home Visit
Come on out and join us as we minister to the residents of Monterey Pines Convalescent Home.  Join us this Saturday, April 17^th from 9:45-11:30 a.m. at 1501 Skyline Drive in Monterey.

Women’s Shelter Visit
Please consider coming this Sunday, April 18^th to the Women’s Shelter visit from  7-8:30 p.m. It is a great opportunity to encourage and bless women who are in transition.  Please stop by the Community Outreach booth if you are interested on attending or would like further information.

Shoreline Clean-Up Day
Saturday, April 24^th is Shoreline Clean Up Day. Come on out to the church from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. as we beautify the church grounds by doing outdoor cleaning and  landscaping.  We will be focusing this day on the exterior beautification of our church building.

Rebuilding Together
The next Rebuilding Together project will be on Saturday, May 8^th from 9a.m.-3p.m.  We will be working on a future transitional housing unit that needs plenty of your love and some work inside and outside that ranges from landscaping to painting to electrical work.

Community Outreach Unleashed
We have a very special day planned for all of you who are part of Community Outreach and to those of you who want to know more about who we are and what our ministry does.  Come and be part in giving us your thoughts and ideas for Community Outreach for this year. Save the date for May 23^rd from 1-5p.m.

It’s here! The Looking Back/Looking Forward celebration is this Saturday! Come and celebrate with Shoreline Community Church as we celebrate the past and cast vision for the future. It’s going to be a great family event! We hope to see you here!

Next Saturday, March 20^th from 9:45-11:30 a.m. is our monthly Convalescent Visit.  Please join us for this great time of fellowship and worship with these deserving

Homeless Connect is just around the corner!  We are seeking volunteers to help us help them. This event takes place on Wednesday, March 24^th from 10:00a.m-2:00p.m at the Monterey Adult School at 222 Casa Verde Way in Monterey.

We have many opportunities for you to help and be a blessing to others. Make sure to stop by the Community Outreach Booth this Sunday to learn more about all the serving opportunities available!

We deeply appreciate all of you who came out to the convalescent home visit this past Saturday afternoon and the women’s shelter visit on Sunday evening.  You gave your time and energy to touch the lives of those who greatly need and appreciate it. On behalf of everyone at the convalescent home and the women’s shelter, we would like to thank you for coming out and being the hands and feet of Jesus.  A very special thank you to Sandy Petricka and Abraham Wilson for coordinating these events.

Reminder! This Saturday is Shoreline Clean-Up Day. Come out and be part of making your home church look as sharp looking as possible.  Shoreline needs all the help we can get to give the building all the love it deserves! This month we will be cleaning the Sanctuary, the Anchor Bay room as well as doing some landscaping work. Come out from 9:00a.m-2:00p.m this upcoming Saturday the 27^th.  Meet us on the Youth Deck at 9:00am. Lunch will be provided.

A huge THANK YOU to those of you who joined on the Women’s Shelter visit this past Sunday. These women were blessed by encouragement and support.

THIS Saturday, September 12th from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. is September’s Serve Saturday at the El Dorado Motel in Salinas. We will be assisting this facility, which graciously houses 80 homeless families. The Community Outreach team will be cleaning, landscaping and beautifying the property. We will meet at the location at 1351 North Main Street at 9 a.m. to start the project.

Saturday, September 19^th from 9:45 a.m.-11:30 a.m. marks our monthly visit to Monterey Pines Convalescent Home. Come join us as we fellowship and worship with these deserving people.

Serve Saturday: THANK YOU to all those who came out to stuff backpacks for children in our surrounding area; it made such a difference in these children’s lives to be able to go back to school prepared.

Convalescent Home Visit, August 15^th: Come on out and join us as we minister to the residents of Monterey Pines Convalescent Home. There will be a time of worship and fellowship with these deserving people. It will definitely be a worthwhile experience.

Women’s Shelter Visit, August 16^th: Use the gifts that God gave you and share them with women in transition. Whether it’s crafts, singing or just an attentive ear, these women are in need of the light and love of Jesus and WE are there to provide that light and love.

Calvary Christian High School Move: A big THANK YOU for all of those who came out to help Calvary Christian High School make the move to their new location in Monterey.

Serve Saturday, August 8th: Come out and join us THIS Saturday! We will be stuffing backpacks using the backpacks and supplies generously donated by the Shoreline congregation. Come on out to the Shoreline Fellowship Center between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and help children in our community go back to school prepared.

Convalescent Home Visit, August 15th: Join us as we worship and fellowship with the residents of the Monterey Pines Convalescent Home. By sharing the light and love that Jesus offers, we minister to these people who are in different circumstances. • Rebuilding Together: Over 45+  Shoreliners came together to help restore a home for a Monterey couple facing serious health issues.

• Community Outreach  participated in the the Job Resources Fair put on by the church.  It was a huge success for our first event of this kind.  Nearly 500 people attended and were exposed to Shoreline Church.

UPCOMING:

• We are having our ANNUAL Shoreline Work Day Sunday, May 30 from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. There will be a special lunch for all workers.  Any questions contact dfederico@shorelinechurch.org or sign-up at the Community Outreach booth on Sunday.

• We’re also taking sign-ups for Serve Saturday when we will be cleaning La Mirada Park in Monterey. This event will take place on  June 13 from  9:00 a.m. to  2:00 p.m.

• As always, we have our bi-monthly visit to the Women’s Shelter in Seaside and our visit to the Convalescent Home every month.
