It’s amazing how itunes makes so many things involving out music so easy. The sad thing for me is that one things itunes has made easy is forgetting great bands. With over 100 gigs of music it’s easy to loose track of a great album or even a band in the mix. As I sat down last night to put together a post on a new band I ended up spending over an hour listening to one of the bands that slipped off my play list in the last year. MuteMath’s Armistice was for much time a quick play of choice for a total album play through. So many albums have songs you just have to skip. Even several of my favorite albums have songs I just don’t like. Armistice is just an album you can play straight through over and over. As I write this I’m four songs into my second play through of the afternoon. So if your looking for a new band to give a try or just want to take a listen to a band I enjoy then check out mutemath.

Make sure to be at Oxygen this Sunday night as we will be having a guest speaker. Well kind of a guest speaker, it’s Thomas Hugo. Thomas Hugo drums in the Band at Oxygen most weeks and is friend to most who attend. He also worked here at Shoreline for several years in our student ministries department with the high school and college groups. Now Thomas works here in the Monterey area doing network consulting, repair, and maintenance. Thomas may spend his days with computers but his knowledge of scripture and philosophy lead his mind to interesting places. It’s been about 6 months since last time Thomas shared with us at Oxygen and we look forward to what he is bringing for us this week.
So come out this Sunday Night @ 7pm for Oxygen here @ Shoreline

Community Outreach Ministries has teamed up with several groups: CSUMB Otter Christian Fellowship, Shoreline Preschool, Children and High School Groups, Monterey Bay Christian Academy and public school classes to make Valentine’s Day Cards. These will be distributed to several groups; the first batch will be going overseas to support the troops. On Serve Saturday, February 14, 2009 we will deliver them to many people that may need to feel God’s love this year. Some of our delivery spots include Meals on Wheels, Gateway Center, Monterey Pines Convalescent, Victory Mission, Dorothy’s Place and YWCA domestic violence shelter.
Please join in on this fun family adventure as we show God’s and our love for the community. Sign-up at the Community Outreach Booth on Sunday or contact jatwell@shorelinechurch.org.

Last night several of us went at to Otter Christian Fellowship at C.S.U.M.B. Otter Christian Fellowship, other wise known as O.C.F., is the christian club out out our local state college. We had a great time with John Ryan and Arizona leading us in several songs making sure to toss is a couple Christmas tunes. Keith shared about the importance and need for reading the bible. His focus was on the way that the bible helps lead us in our daily lives and gives us wisdom to plan for our future. This ended their semester long study on the basics of the Christian faith. It’s always great to join together with O.C.F. for an evening or two now and then.
If you are a student at C.S.U.M.B. and have interest in O.C.F. contact Pastor Andrew to get the latest information on when and where they meet. Next Monday night @ 8pm is there Christmas party in building 98 at C.S.U.M.B.
