Laughing, Learning, Worship, and Solid Biblical Teaching

Students need to know that every hour of every day, they can be living with the Word. All 66 books of the Bible have something to tell us about God, ourselves, and the world we live in—that’s 24/7:66 living with the word.

This time will help our middle schoolers understand the thread of redemption woven throughout the Bible. Our students will be inspired by what God is doing around the world and will be challenged to read Scripture every day.

In addition to creating great memories for our group, PlanetWisdom will train and equip our students to:

Articulate the evidence for the credibility of Scripture
Understand the basic structure of the Bible
Use three approaches to studying the Bible on their own

Event Description

For the past 10 years, PlanetWisdom has served over 300,000 students and 10,000 local churches by providing a truly unique weekend event. It is more than random big-name speakers and artists. It’s a group of people who have worked together for years, commited to making PlanetWisdom an event that helps students take specific next steps to follow Jesus and grow deeper in their walk with God. Speakers and Artists

Skit Guys: The Skit Guys are Eddie James and Tommy Woodard, who love to communicate God’s Word in dynamic and captivating ways through the use of drama, teaching and comedy. Learn more about the Skit Guys here.

Middle School Christmas Party!

The whole family is invited to the middle school christmas party on Dec 7th. Each year we enjoy this time together with the students and families of Exit. We will start the evening with our classic christmas quiz followed by a great dinner. After a short teaching time we move into christmas bingo where the kids win treats and mom and dad go home with the big prizes. This year we have a full HD camera for some lucky mom or dad to take home among other prizes. The party starts at 6pm and runs to 8pm on wednesday the Dec 7th. You don’t want to miss out on the great evening of kicking off the christmas season!

Exit Middle School Costume Dance Party!

That’s right it’s almost Halloween and that means it’s time for Exit middle school ministries costume party movie night! Come dress in your halloween costume for your chance to win the costume contest and the costume dance off!! We will be kicking the evening off at 6pm and wrapping up the night at 9pm. This is sure to be a blast so make sure to bring your friends and your friend’s friends! Remember the costume contest will be judged by Danny, Slim, and Melanie so keep that in mind when figuring out your costume for the night. The Dance off will be judged by Jenn, Andrew and Erica. So if you want to win bring your moves to impress us or make us laugh! Be here October 28th in the youth room at 6pm! Don’t forget to bring a friend because you wouldn’t want them to be left out on this one!

Middle School – EAT AND PLAY SUNDAY!

Sunday Morning September 25th we are going to have a blast!

Make sure your at middle school service for great food and loads of fun as we enjoy our EAT AND PLAY SUNDAY. A couple times a year we take time to talk a little about why we have our middle school group and our theme verse 1 Tim 4:12 and then EAT AND PLAY. This is a Sunday morning you don’t want to miss as we will also be giving peak into all the upcoming events through march of next year. So come out and bring a friend for EAT AND PLAY SUNDAY!

Middle School Bon Fire This FRIDAY!

Coming up this Friday, the Exit Middle School group is having a bon fire out at Del Monte Beach from 6-9pm. We’ll be roasting up some hot dogs and s’mores and playing several incredibly fun games. So bring your friends and come have a great time!

*Student pick-up/drop-off will take place at the beach.

Middle School Missions Trip Update 9

In just a couple hours we will be back in Monterey and I’m sure everyone is ready to head home and get some well deserved rest. Last night as we stayed in Redding we had a great time of processing all God aloud us to be part of during our week in Corvallis. From helping the city of Corvallis to serving other local churches each student worked hard to do their part in all tasks. As we shared about our week last night the students were challenged not to simply return home but to go on to the next missions field in the Monterey area. Over the next few weeks those that were on the trip will be challenged to find new ways to serve those around them in their day to day life. Even though the work is different at home the mission is the same. Please pray for our students as they adjust back to home life. Also pray that they continue the mission of sharing Gods love with everyone.

Middle School Missions Trip Update 8

This years middle school missions trip has been incredible. The students have worked hard and shown much love to the people of Corvallis Church and the City of Corvallis. As our last act of service we helped Corvallis Church put on their second preview service. This involved outdoor setup of a stage, tables, chairs, and sound system. It was more work then it sounds as much of the equipment was recently acquired and need a fair amount of repair and prep to get put together. The group also spent time over the last few days going door to door with flyers inviting neighbors to come out for the picnic dinner and worship service. During the service it was exciting to have Shorelines Ryan McKalson lead worship through song. This was Ryan’s first time doing something of this nature and, even though he had to shake of some nerves, he did an amazing job and impressed all around. After the worship service we helped pack up and load the trailer.
It had been a long week of work so that night we went down town to a gelato shop for a relaxing treat. If you want to hear a crazy story make sure to ask one of the leaders or students about the gelato dance party. This is something no one will forget soon, including those working.
Were on the road heading to redding tonight for a time of reflection before we finish our drive home tomorrow.

Middle School Missions Trip Update 7

We have been working hard here on the middle school missions trip and it’s paying off well. We split the team for several hours as we served to other local churches connect to Corvallis Church then joined back together to server Dallas Church, Corvallis Church’s mother church.
As we split one group went to help Suburban Church with several projects around their campus. Suburban has provided Corvallis Church with office space and other aid and it was wonderful to bless those who are blessing others.
The second group went to help another new church plant here in Corvallis. They are only in the planning stages and are yet to come up with a name but they have been given an old church building. As we arrived it was easy to see that the grounds had been really let go of by the church that had once used the facilities. Weeds that stood over five feet high surrounded the building and filled the parking lot planters. The Pastor explain a long “dream list” of their goals for the grounds being cleaned by the end of the year. So far the work was being done by he and his wife and a handful of other helpers. They were shocked to come back 7 hours later to find their year end plans complete. I was thrilled with how hard the team worked and amazed by all we accomplished in one day. (see pics below)
As I mentioned we were also able to help Dallas Church with a project. Quite honestly their request is by far the strangest I have ever had on a trip of this nature and I have seen and heard a lot. I was very tired from a long day of work in the sun as Mike Miller, one of the Pastors at Corvallis Church, was explaining this new opportunity to serve. He was talking along about how helpful it would be and about handing out flyers and connecting to the community. All of these things seemed normal and I has just half awake agreeing my way through the conversation when the word “Parade” sparked my brain. When I asked,”Did you say parade?”, he looked at me and said, “oh are you not interested?”. To this I quickly explained that I was more the just interested, I was very excited. So with that yesterday morning our group marched in the Dallas Or annual city parade. As the Dallas Church float passed by our students handed out candy and flyers inviting all along the parade route to join Dallas Church for service today. The joy on the faces of our students was huge as they waved to the crowds lining the mile and a half parade route. Throwing candy to children and cooling people of with blasts from water guns, riding in old time trucks and waving to the crowds. I know that this memory will last a life time for the students. Our energy added much excitement to the Dallas float and they were grateful for our service.
It’s quickly beginning to feel like this won’t be our last trip to serve the people of Corvallis.

Middle School Missions Trip Update 6

Last night we spent time in down town Portland working with Bridge Town ministries. Bridge Town serves the homeless of Portland through providing for their physical needs and connecting them to local churches. During our time with Bridge Town the students helped cut hair, serve food, distribute clothes, wash feet, fix shopping carts, and spent time in prayer walks around the area. It was a late night with us getting home at close to 1am but the kids did great and were still up and ready for a day of work in the sun today. The students are working hard and impressing those we serve.
