Floatin’ Down the American River | July 31st

On July 28, 2010, in High School Ministry, Students, by High School Ministry

This Saturday C3 will be heading out to Sacramento, California to float down the American River. We are leaving at 9am and returning that evening at around 9pm. The cost is $30, which covers gas and the rental of the rafts. The section of the river we float down is very calm with some minor rapids. It is a fun, relaxing time to get some sun and swim around.

If you’d like more information about this or any of C3′s events, please contact our High School Program Coordinator Stephen Medina at 831.917.8765

Looking for a good read?

On June 1, 2010, in High School Ministry, Students, by High School Ministry

Hey students!

I found a great book and resource for you. Mark Matlock is the author of the “Wisdom on…” series which is a collection of books he has written to give insight and help on different topics teens deal with everyday. The book I chose to highlight today is called “Wisdom On Making Good Decisions”. Here’s a description of the book for you:

“Teens get to make a lot of decisions in their lives—even decisions that can have a big impact on their future. There’s no “magic” formula to getting it right. Making good decisions takes wisdom, and in this book students will learn how to gain more wisdom and put it to use in the choices they make.

The Wisdom On… series is a collection of easy-to-read books designed to help teens apply biblical wisdom to their everyday lives. Using case studies, personal inventories, interactive activities, and helpful insights from Proverbs, students will find each book to be engaging and enlightening. Author Mark Matlock addresses the big issues teens face, such as relationships, decision-making, money, parents, and media, and will also help them understand what wisdom looks like in the not-so-big things as well.”

If you’re interested in this book or other books visit Shoreline’s amazing bookstore on Sundays to find great resources.

Hume Lake 2010 Band: Above the Golden State

On May 25, 2010, in High School Ministry, by High School Ministry

This Summer Hume Lake’s Band is Above the Golden State. They hail from Portland, Oregon bringing with them a cool, unique sound to Hume Lake. This is an excerpt taken from the Hume Lake website:

“In the cool, culturally minded streets of Portland, Oregon, Christianity, like much of the city’s music scene, is basically underground. But for the Portland trio know as pop/rock act Above the Golden State, the sheer lack of Christian culture hasn’t been a problem. If anything it’s caused the guys to get serious about their faith in the trenches—and what it really means to be a follower of Christ.”

We are so excited to worship with them this Summer and encourage you to check them out!
