Since his first taste of Missions on the first Shoreline trip to Pixabaj, Guatemala in December of 2007, Phil Choate has been actively involved with missions work here at Shoreline. He has helped form our Missions Board and served faithfully as the Missions leader up to this week. Phil has now stepped down from directing the Missions Board onto other ventures God has called him to.

Phil will still be engaged in other ministries here and plans to be part of Mission Teams to Guatemala and Mexico in the future. Thanks for a job well done Phil! We love you and look forward to serving with you as God calls us to spread the Light of Jesus around the world.

Guatemala Under Construction

On May 13, 2010, in Global Outreach, by Global Outreach

This just in: Shoreline is going to assist the construction of a new road at the school in Pixabaj Guatemala. In the third world building a new road is a massive undertaking of planning, labor and stress. Without the capabilities we enjoy here in the US, workers must be creative, flexible and have great stamina. Having a good road up to the school will change everything in terms of what can be supplied, how to plan expansion and exploring God’s vision for the future of Pixabaj and villages like it.

Missions Trip to Guatemala | Feb 27 – Mar 9

On January 14, 2010, in Global Outreach, by Global Outreach

Guatemala here we come! Missions Board Member John Houseman is leading a team of Shoreliners into Guatemala to continue the work on the Mayan school in the highland village of Pixabaj. Pastor Dennis will assist John and five other team members and there is room for a few more. This will be the sixth trip from Shoreline to Pixabaj, teams working with both the buildings and teaching in the Mayan children’s classrooms. The trip leaves February 27 and returns March 9, 2010.

The Mayan people are an oppressed population and extremely poor. The only chance the young people have to succeed is to acquire an education and learn Spanish. The school in Pixabaj is a Christian setting where these children learn Spanish, English, the 3 “Rs” and all about the love of Jesus. Shoreline partners with Outpost Ministries Director Carlos Nevarez in supporting the work God has led him to do in Guatemala. For more information contact John or Pastor Dennis
