Middle School Prayer and Worship this Sunday

On November 17, 2011, in Middle School - EXIT, Students, by Andrew

This Sunday morning in the middle school service we will be enjoying a morning full of singing, prayers, and scripture reading. Several times a year we set aside a Sunday to focus on prayers for our schools, family, neighbors, and friends. This Sunday our focus will be prayer for our local schools and teachers. Please make sure you or your student doesn’t miss this time of prayer and the amazing morning of music that Jenn Colijn and the team has planned. Hope to see you all there!

Exit Middle School: Hide Night!

On February 28, 2011, in Middle School - EXIT, Students, by Exit

Break out the camo and dark clothing and get ready for the greatest hide night of your life! The Exit middle school is holding an awesome Hide Night at Shoreline from 8:30 to 10:30pm on Friday, March 18th. This night will be packed with different variations of hide-and-go-seek, prizes, and loads of fun! We’ll be using a majority of the church property to hide and play games, and well, if you’ve seen James Bond or Jason Bourne, I can’t guarantee you’ll feel exactly like that, but it’ll be pretty darn close. So come, bring your friends, hide, play, and join us being ninjas in the night.

EXIT Middle School Series: “Tell Me The Story Again!”

On January 10, 2011, in Middle School - EXIT, by Exit

For the month of January, our Exit middle school is going through a sermon series called “Tell Me The Story Again!”, parables of Christ. We have been (and will be) reading through the amazing stories told by Jesus and how these stories, even though told long ago, can still be applied to our lives; Stories like The Good Shepherd, The Faithful Servant, The Prodigal Son, Drawing In The Net, and Talents. As we read through the Gospels and hear the stories, we can begin to learn the core teachings that Jesus Himself brought and how stories such as these can begin to change the lives of our middle schoolers one  heart at a time.

Below is each weeks scripture passage as well as the topic Pastor Andrew will be speaking on. We encourage you to use the provided passages to learn and follow along with what your student is learning with our youth on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.

Week #1 (jan. 2) – The Good Shepherd

John 10:1-18

Week #2 (jan.9) – Faithful Servant

*Luke 12:35-48, Matt. 24:42-51, Mark 13:33-37

Week #3 (jan. 16) – Prodigal Son

Luke 15:11-32

Week #4 (jan. 23) – Drawing in the Net

Matt. 13:47-53

Week #5 (jan. 30) – Talents

Matt. 25:14-30, Luke 19:13-24

Exit middle school Sundays – The Bible on ghosts and spirits.

On October 26, 2010, in Middle School - EXIT, Students, by Andrew

I remember clearly being introduced to the idea of the paranormal. It wasn’t a scary movie late at night or stories told by a camp fire. It was saturday morning cartoons with Casper the friendly Ghost. So the fear level started pretty low for me.  For many of us the idea of Ghosts and evil spirits is simply something we write off as fairy tales. For others they are stories that must be true because Grandma’s Grandma wouldn’t have lied, it just wasn’t done back then. Thinking about these matters comes up now and then through media like books, movies, tv and more. So seeing as this year Halloween falls right on a Sunday what better time could we choose then now to look at what the Bible says about ghosts and evil spirits. Hmm and maybe have some post breakfast candy! Make sure your student is here this Sunday for Exit middle school group at 10am during Shorelines second service. We are going to take a real look at this important topic but trust me the amount of candy your kids will have will be scarier to you then the passages we will be studying. Through this time we will focus on the power of Christ over all good and evil.
