Parents: As most of you are aware, each week our Sunday morning curriculum touches on three recurring themes:
- I can trust God no matter what.
- I need to make the wise choice.
- I need to treat others the way I want to be treated.
Those three themes are visited each week and are developed around a biblical character trait, or virtue, and key memory verse for the month.
Our goal is to augment what you do at home, so we continue to make tools available to help you bring Sunday’s message into your home. Back in January we moved the weekly handouts, Godtime card and Fridge card, to the Shoreline website so that you could view or download them from your home and not have to worry about papers finding their way home from class. Now we’d like to bring these tools, and more, right to your phone so that you can have them ready anytime a teachable moment presents itself. If you have an iPhone or iPad, you can look in the App Store for the ‘Parent Cue’ from the ReThink Group. This will correspond with what we’re teaching each week in class. If you use an Android device, we’ll let you know how to access the ‘Parent Cue’ by the end of the month.
The Parent Cue app provides videos, music, and discussion starters specifically designed for Drive Time, Meal Time and Hang Time. Plus, a new Parent Time full of resources to enrich your parenting perspective. The app also provides a weekly plan so that each day you are cued with a new tool to connect with your kids.
All this tech is really just a tool to increase your touch upon the lives of your children as you grow them to know, love and serve God. And, as always, we appreciate the opportunity to partner with you in this great adventure. We count it a great privilege to do so, not to mention that it’s a lot of fun.
