Memorize/Reflect: “But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” (Exodus 3:11)

Personal Reflection: God used Moses, with his insecurities, temper, and struggles. What does this say about the potential for God to do great things through you?

Discussion: What were some of Moses’ excuses for why he thought God could not work through him (Exodus 3)? How did God help move Moses past his sense of unworthiness?

Prayer Direction: God still delivers from oppression, fear, and spiritual attack. Ask God to set you free from any way you feel enslaved to sin, oppressed by people, or your own unhealthy expectations or outlook on life.

“Live It!” Challenge: Moses followed God, even in his insecurities, and God did great things through him. Take a step past a personal fear and follow God more boldly this week.

Monthly Prayer Focus: Through February, we will pray for courage! Ask God to give courage to the Shoreline Pastors and Leadership Team members as they set the course for our ministry in the coming months and years.

Extra Resources for this week: Buy a copy of The Story at the Shoreline Bookstore. You also might want to consider buying a study Bible for the New Year. We also have a great children’s story book you might want to get and read with your children or grandchildren.

Small Group Resources for this week: Chapter 4 of The Story: Getting to the Heart of God’s Story (Adult Curriculum). You can purchase this 31-week study for 40% off at the Shoreline Bookstore. (If you can’t afford this and are going to be part of a group, please contact Romel.)
