- Easter Egg Stuffing, Family Fun Event
A big thank you to Mila Wight , Michele Arellano, Dave Layus, Jane Shaffer-MacDonald, Dennis Brown, Julie Pierce, Sandy Petricka, Kecia Denk and Rick Simek for their help putting on this event. This was a fun day for the families as they stuffed Easter Eggs for the migrant worker’s children, Convalescent Home, Women’s Shelter and Gateway Center. The children enjoyed games and Easter activities. Mrs. Nancy Costello came to share about what she does in her ministry. We pray that this Shoreline event will impact our community with God’s Word and Love. See our photos on Flickr. - Bags of Hope Kick Off April 10th
Thank you to Jim Clark and the Awana students for helping sell the “Bags of Hope” this past Sunday. We also want to acknowledge the Jr. High and their leaders for putting them together. We sold over 100 bags, our goal is 500. The bags will be available for purchase at the Community Outreach booth for $2 each, then go out and share your “Hope” with a person in need.

The Food Pantry is still in urgent need of canned meats, such as chicken, tuna, roast beef or salmon. Also beef stew, chili, canned beans and breakfast cereal. Our annual drive starts May 22nd, and the need has increased dramatically from last year. Every child deserves to go to school prepared to learn, so let’s do our part to make that happen.

- El Dorado Motel Clean up Day, Saturday, February 26th - take a look at the great pictures of all the hands and feet of God at work that will be posted on Flickr
- Eternity in Heaven - We want to take this time to say “Until we meet again” to Earl Fritcher affectionately known as ” Kite Man”. He touched many of our hearts and loved to make the cutest little kites that he shared with everyone. We know you are with our Lord so we will see you when we get to Heaven, until then, we will miss you at Monterey Pines Convalescent Home!

Jim Clark is the organizer of this great project and he will be having people selling the bags on Sunday mornings before and after the services. It’s almost here and there are a few more volunteer positions we still need to fill for the Sea Otter Classic. This is a great time to practice your Organic Outreach skills Pastor Harney taught us, to spread the word of Jesus. The Exit Middle School will be visiting the Monterey Pines Convalescent Home this saturday, March 5th. We’ll be meeting at 9am at Shoreline and following Danny and Jenn over to the home for those who don’t know exactly were it’s located. However, if you do know where it’s at, the event doesn’t officially start until 9:30am, so feel free to meet us there. This visit will give us an opportunity to reach out to our elders in our community who may not experience visits that often. Our time spent there sends a clear message of God’s love and how much people care about them and it also gives our young people a chance to give back. So come and be part of something special . It’ll mean so much! Not to mention we’ll have a lot of fun spending time as a youth group as well!

This Saturday, March 20th, is our visit to the Monterey Pines Convalescent Home located at 1501 Skyline Drive in Monterey. Come and join Outreach as we fellowship with and minister to these people whom we love to spend time with. If you are interested in this opportunity to serve, please meet at the Monterey Pines parking lot at 9:45-11:30a.m. for prayer before going in the building.
This Sunday evening, March 21st from 7-8:30 p.m. is the second Women’s Shelter Visit of the month. Please consider spending some time with these women in transition. We are truly blessed to be a part of this rewarding ministry and hope to expand it even more with your help. Stop by the booth this Sunday to get driving directions.
The next Homeless Connect event takes place on Wednesday, March 24th at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Monterey Adult School at 222 Casa Verde Street in Monterey. This ministry event helps and encourages the homeless to get connected to the services they need. We are seeking volunteers to help us help them.
