The official date for the Oxygen Luau is going to be October 18th!
Bring your Hawaiian t-shirts, grass skirts, and your lei, because we are having a luau at the Hugo’s on October 18th. We are hoping the great weather will continue for a little longer so that we can have some sunshine as well! There will be tons of food and drinks provided (of the Hawaiian variety) and good music. This is a perfect opportunity to bring some friends along who may not normally come to Oxygen.
Basically, are going to have a fun night where we get to eat lots of good food and spend time in community. We are trying to get an idea of how much food we need, so if you are coming, then RSVP to Thomas or myself so we know a general sense of how many people will be there. Feel free to email me if you have any questions or you need the exact address.
Where: The Hugo House on Reservation Rd.
When: 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18th
What to bring: Hawaiian T-shirts and an appetite

Oxygen Tuesday Night
This Tuesday night for Oxygen, we are going to meet the Hugo’s house at 7 pm tomorrow for salads and Settlers. For those of you who don’t know what Settlers of Catan is, basically it is an amazing board game that anyone can learn fairly fast. We will have a beginner’s table and an expert table, so don’t be intimidated if you have never played before. Also, for those of you who don’t know what salad is, follow this Wikipedia link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salad. If you want to bring drinks to pass that would be great. There will be balloons on the mailbox and a spotlight, because the house is a little bit tucked back and hard to find. Next week we start small groups which I am very excited about! Hope to see all of you there!

This week we are meeting at Habaneros again, for those of you who haven’t come any of the previous weeks, the location is down below. Andrew is going to be leading the discussion this week following what we are talking about in the main service, prayer. Here are some of the passages we will be looking at:
Matthew 6:7
Matthew 18:19-20
Romans 8:26
James 5:16
Psalms 4
After reading through each of these passages we will be talking about how prayer is presented and how it relates to our own prayer lives. As you get ready to talk about this topic, think about the various ways that you were taught to pray and some other ways that you have seen people pray. I hope by the end of our discussion everyone will have more direction in their own prayer time. See you there tomorrow!
Where: 400 Tyler Street, Monterey, Ca 93940
When: 8:00 pm on Tuesday 3/1/11

I hope that everyone who came to sushi night last week had a good time. I put some pictures up if anyone wants to check them out. This week we are going to head back to Habaneros, for those of you who didn’t come two weeks ago, the location is down below. The following passages will be helpful as we are talking about the idea of forgiveness:
Matthew 18: 15-35
Luke 17: 3-4
Matthew 6: 14-15
One thing that I would really like to talk about is how we relate to someone after the act of forgiveness. More than anything, I just want to honestly talk about our experiences with forgiveness and how we have dealt with certain situations in our lives. Hope to see you there tomorrow!

This Tuesday night we will once again be meeting at Oh! Sushi at 8:00 p.m. This week we will be discussing Romans 1-2, focusing on the end of chapter 1 and the beginning of chapter 2. This is a pretty touchy subject having to do with God’s wrath in regards to sin and unrighteousness, something we don’t often like to think of, but definitely need to be reminded of. As always, make sure you do the reading so we can have a real discussion and not a lecture!
When: Tuesday November 16th
