It seems like there are cretin topics within the church that are considered off limits – subjects that are easier to avoid than talk about – they are the untouchables. As we explore the “American Dreams” series in main service and have opened up the conversation on several of these untouchable topics here at Shoreline. With that in mind at Oxygen we are taking a full look at several areas that are very often avoided with a series we are calling the “Untouchables”. This series is all about the tough topics.
As young Christians in our world today, we know we can’t ignore God’s perspective on issues just because that are difficult – that logic won’t fly with our generation. We ask questions and expect answers, or at least honest discussion or admission of our lack of knowledge. Most of the time people avoid topics because they don’t feel qualified to speak on the tough issues.
We hope through this series we can help equip those who attend to be able to process these tough issues through scripture and Gods leading. Honestly it’s a little scary to tackle subjects like Homosexuality, death, disability, and racism, but these are all things that God has given us direction to follow. The topics are tough and may seem Untouchable, good thing God knew we would face them.
