
Exploring the Prophets Bible Study | September 19th
Join us this coming Fall for Pastor Kevin’s monthly Bible Study on the prophets. We will meet in the Fellowship Center from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for the study. Afterward, there will be an optional Q&A time from 7:30-8 p.m. September’s topic we’ll be study the prophets Zephaniah and Habakkuk. Hope you can join us!

Memorize/Reflect - “When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” (John 5:6)
Personal Reflection- How have you experienced God’s best in your life? What do you do that keeps you from experiencing God’s best?
Discussion- What are some of the things we can do to put ourselves in a place where we will experience God’s best in our lives? What are some of the things God wants us to have and experience that we can miss if we are not careful?
Prayer Direction- Ask God to help you see where you are making decisions and living in a way that keeps you from experiencing all He wants and has for you. Thank God for being a loving Father and praise Him for the good gifts he gives.
“Live It!” Challenge - Write a letter to God, as your heavenly Father, and thank Him for ten good gifts He has given to you. Let Him know that you recognize His generosity and that you are truly a thankful son or daughter.
Monthly Prayer Focus: As we move from July into August, we will focus our prayers on traveling, every day, with Jesus. Identify some of the good seasons and wonderful places He has led you and give Him thanks. Pray that you will learn to slow down and notice the good places and refreshing moments of life.

Personal Reflection- What are some of the tactics and temptations the enemy tries to use against me? What are some of the ways I can resist and fight against the devil’s schemes and tactics?
Discussion- When you look at our world and culture, what are some of the regular and common tactics the enemy is using to pull people into sin and away from God? Why is it so important that we identify the tactics of the enemy and recognize where he is seeking to attack us? What are some of the consequences if we ignore the attacks of the devil in our lives, homes, and world?
Prayer Direction- Pray for open eyes to see the attacks and methods of the enemy. Ask for God’s power and strength to resist and fight back.
“Live It!” Challenge - Jesus quoted from the Bible each time the enemy tried to tempt him. Identify a specific area you face with temptation and find one or two short passages in the Bible that would help you fight back. Write these on a card or put them in your phone. Every time you feel temptation growing in this area, read over these passage, meditate on their truth and fight back!
Monthly Prayer Focus: This July we will focus our prayers on traveling, every day, with Jesus. Identify the places you face the greatest temptation and pray in two ways. First, pray for power to avoid these places. If you can’t avoid them, ask for power to stand strong when you travel through these places.

Prayer Direction- Thank God for the week that lies ahead. Ask God to help you slow down, notice His presence and goodness, and truly enjoy life. Confess where you get running too fast and miss what matters most in life…your relationship with God and with the people around you.
“Live It!” Challenge - Block out an hour this week to do absolutely nothing. Leave this space open (put it on your schedule) and use this time to be quiet, talk with God, take a walk with a friend or family member, and simply enjoy life.

Take time to thank God for women in your family, church, and community who have impacted your life in positive ways. You might even want to drop a note to one of these women and let them know how much God has shaped your life through them.

The Tender and Tough Love of God | June 19th
A good father will love with a balance of tender and tough love. Our heavenly Father is a perfect example of tender love. He brings grace, forgiveness, mercy, and patience. He is also an amazing example of tough love. God brings discipline, holy justice, and judgment against all that is wrong. Only when we embrace the fullness of God’s tough and tender love do we understand who God is and walk as his children. This Father’s Day we will discover the importance of knowing God’s love…in all of its fullness!
