Personal Reflection- How has God used people in the church to bless your life and help you grow in your faith? How has God used you to be a blessing to others in His church and help them grow in faith?
Discussion- Why is it important for us to gather with other believers on a regular basis? What can we gain from these times together? What might we miss if we fail to gather with other believers? What is one way you are investing in a ministry of the local church (or, what is one way you can start investing)?
Prayer Direction- Thank God for His family, the church, that gathers all over the world. Lift up special prayers of thanks for Shoreline Community Church and the people in the church that God has used to help you grow in your faith. Pray for those in leadership positions at Shoreline (Staff, Leadership Team, and volunteers).
“Live It!” Challenge - Pick one Shoreline staff member (look on the website for options), and commit to support them. Pray at least once a week and send them a note of encouragement once this month.
Monthly Prayer Focus: There are so many challenges today and families really need our prayer support. Please pray for fathers and mothers to invest time and energy in the spiritual training of their children. Pray that Shoreline will be a great ministry partner and resource for parents as they help kids grow in faith.
Resources for the “No Place Like Home?” series: If you want to dig deeper into the topic of strong families, consider reading, Sacred Parenting by Gary Thomas or Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas. There is also a great DVD curriculum for Sacred Marriage with a small group study guide for couples (written by Pastor Kevin and his wife, Sherry). You can order/purchase these at the Shoreline Bookstore today.
