UPCOMING EVENTS:
PACIFIC GROVE TRIATHLON – SEPTEMBER 10-12
Thank you again to everyone who has signed up already for the Triathlon – it is very exciting to know that we will have quite a good number of Shoreline’s faithful servants out there showing Christ’s love through community outreach! But, we still have about 20 spots left! They are asking for about 60 volunteers to each work a five-hour shift. If we are able to do this, Community Outreach will also receive a donation from the Triathlon towards our ministry. This is such a wonderful opportunity. If you are still interesting in volunteering this weekend, please call the church to find out how you can sign-up for a shift.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOE BOX WRAPPING PARTY – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH
In the last couple of years, the Operation Christmas Child facilitators have provided us with pre-wrapped shoeboxes, so that the members of our congregation can take them and fill them with supplies. This year, however, they are unable to do so. As a result, our Operation Christmas Child coordinators, Ray and Sharon Basset, are organizing a shoebox wrapping party so we can still hand out pre-wrapped shoeboxes to our congregation when the time comes to fill the shoeboxes with supplies and presents for the OCC children! Join us in this great service event on Saturday, September 25th, from 9am-2pm. Lunch will be provided!
In the meantime, we are preparing by collecting supplies!
- Christmas Wrapping Paper
- Rubber Bands
- Scotch Tape
You can drop off any donations at the Community Outreach Booth Sunday from now until September 19th, and sign at the booth starting this Sunday if you are interested in joining us on the 25th. Please contact Sharon Basset (831.647.0808 / lucyandus@att.net) with any questions.
EMPLOYMENT WORKSHOP/RESOURCE FAIR – TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th
Join Elisabeth Harney Sanders-Park and Debra Angel MacDougall on their national book tour, The 6 Reasons You’ll Get the Job. The book launch starts at 9a.m.-12p.m., Employment Resource Fair will be from 1-4p.m. The first 200 guests will receive a free book! Lunch will be provided. Visit www.the6reasons.com for complete details. Questions? Contact Deb Federico or Sharon Burwell or call the church at 831.655.0100 x302
SEPTEMBER BOOTH COVERAGE
Again, thank you to everyone who has stepped up and said “yes!” to helping out with this seemingly small, but crucial part of this ministry! We have the first two Sundays in September covered, but the 19th and the 26th are still in need of volunteers! If you haven’t ever worked the Community Outreach Booth on Sundays, please consider doing so. It is a great way to meet and fellowship with other members of our church who are involved and interested in Community Outreach. Please consider this opportunity to serve!
If you have any questions or would like more information about any of the above listed events, or any other Community Outreach activities, please stop by the booth this Sunday, shoot us an email, or call us at the church. Thank you for your service to the Lord in coming alongside us and taking a part in the Community Outreach Ministry!

The Community Outreach team is up to a lot, especially as the holidays come around!
This past weekend Outreach’s presence was felt from Pacific Grove to Salinas as their volunteers spread the love of Jesus to athletes at the Pacific Grove Triathlon and to the residents of the El Dorado Motel going though a rough patch in life in Salinas.
This coming weekend, Outreach’s volunteers will fellowship and worship with the residents of the Monterey Pines Convalescent Home this Saturday from 9:45-11:30 a.m. Come and join as they bless these deserving people.
For the ladies, this Sunday is also the second visit to the Women’s Crisis Center from 7-8:30 p.m. If you have an encouraging word or talent, please come on out.
The holidays are practically here which means Outreach is as busy as ever. They have several programs during the holiday season including:
* Trunk or Treat
* Thanksgiving at the Fairgrounds
* Angel Tree
* Operation Christmas Child
If you are interested in these or other opportunities to serve, please contact Deb Federico at dfederico@shorelinechurch.org or Megan Huff at mhuff@shorelinechurch.org.

Here’s what’s going on with the Community Outreach team!
Shoreline Clean-Up Day is quickly approaching! Join us THIS Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. as we clean the church and beautify the grounds in order to make our church home presentable for members and guests alike.
Sunday, September 6th marks our first of two visits to the Women’s Shelter for the month of September. Accompany us as we minister to these women in a time of transition.
On Saturday, September 12th from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. we will be helping the residents of the El Dorado Motel in Salinas. We will be helping them by cleaning and maintaining the facilities. We are currently in need of trucks for this event.
The Pacific Grove Triathlon is here again! Community Outreach has been asked to provide volunteers for the events which take place on the weekend of September 11th-September 13th. The organizers are seeking our help in every aspect of the event from registration to the finish line. We are still in need of volunteers for the 12th and the 13th.
