- Monterey Pines Convalescent Home Visit
Joy was brought to the residents as love and attention was given them last Saturday. Thank you so much to all of you who gave their hearts. - Women’s Shelter Visit
God had blessed these women Sunday night with Julie Pierce who gave an inspirational lesson to the women. Thank you Julie for your time and heart.
FOOD DONATIONS URGENTLY NEEDED
The Food Pantry is in urgent need of canned meats, such as chicken, tuna, roast beef or salmon. Also beef stew, chili, canned beans and breakfast cereal. If you can donate any of these items, it will help us to help the needy. There is also a need for volunteers to pre-pack bags of food on Mondays. If you can help, please contact us - Thank you!

- Easter Egg Stuffing Family Fun Event

The Kick Off for the “Bags of Hope” is this Sunday. The bags will be available for purchase at the Community Outreach Booth for $2 each. Then go out and help a person in need find hope with your Bag of Hope.

- Sea Otter Classic April 14-17th
Time flies and the Sea Otter Classic is here next week. Please check out the positions we still need covered and let us know if you can help. There will be a sign up sheet at the Community Outreach Booth. Please be sure to sign a waiver and pick up an information sheet.
Registration: Friday, April 15th, 6:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (2 volunteers)
Awards Stuffing: (lunch included) Monday, April 11th, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (1 volunteer)
Registration volunteers should plan on arriving 1/2 hour prior to their shift start time.

If you can swing a hammer, paint or just clean, come help us as we refurbish the house of a single mom with 4 children. Let’s show her how our hands and feet of God can work for her. If you would like to give your heart and help, sign up at the Community Outreach Booth.

Also, a big thanks to the 44 volunteers who were part in making The Sea Otter Classic a big success! We fulfilled our responsibilities to allow us to get compensated for our volunteer time. Everyone at the Sea Otter Classic was very impressed with your hard work and said it was a joy have you there. A big thanks to Sharon Burwell who helped tremendously in coordinating the volunteer team. Thanks!!!
SHORELINE CLEAN-UP DAY 4.24.10
This Saturday, April 24th is Shoreline Clean-Up Day. Come on out to the church at 9a.m. and help us beautify the church grounds by doing only outdoor cleaning and landscaping.
UPCOMING SERVING OPPORTUNITIES AND EVENTS:
Serve Saturday: DOROTHY’S KITCHEN 5.8.10
Join us as we prepare sandwiches for Dorothy’s Kitchen in Salinas on Saturday, May 8th. The project will take place in two parts: 1) Sandwich making from 9-11, here at Shoreline. 2) Sandwich delivery in Salinas from 11:30a.m.-2p.m. You can choose to help with the morning production and, if time permits, join those who go to Dorothy’s Kitchen and Victory Outreach to personally distribute sandwiches.

The next Rebuilding Together project will be on Saturday, May 8th from 9a.m.-3p.m. We will be working on a future transitional housing unit that needs plenty of your love and work inside and outside such as cleaning, landscaping, painting and electrical work. This future shelter home is located on 709 Jefferson St. in Salinas.

Many thanks to over 60 of you who came and helped prepare Easter egg goodies during our Serve Saturday! We made over 1,000 Easter eggs with scriptures and words of encouragement that went out to Monterey Pines and Winsor Convalescent home, migrant worker families and then we challenged families to go out and share with someone of their own choice. So many people in our community were blessed by your participation.
The Sea Otter Classic is only one week away and we still have available shifts for you to volunteer. Consider coming out and help make this event happen on April 12th-18th.

Join us this Friday, March 26th from 5:15-7:30 p.m. for those of you who are on the I-HELP team and to those of you who would like to join us in making this month’s I-HELP event happen.
This Saturday, March 27th, we have our monthly Shoreline Clean-Up Day from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Come out and join us as we beautify the campus for visitors to our church home.
We are collecting plastic Easter eggs, small pieces of candy and children’s christian books in English or Spanish. You may also stop by the bookstore and contribute $1 or more that will go towards the purchase of christian books. Donation bins are located in the downstairs lobby.
We are looking for a total of 42 volunteers to participate in the world famous Sea Otter Classic taking place on April 12th-18th. Each volunteer will receive one 4-day festival pass wristband, a sea otter classic tee shirt and lunch per full day assistance. In return for our services, the Sea otter Classic, Inc. will contribute financially to our Benevolence & Hope Ministry.
