Bible in a Year (Chronological Reading)

Monday- Psalm 111-118
Tuesday- 1 Kings 1-2; Psalm 37; 71; 94
Wednesday- Psalm 119:1-88
Thursday- 1 Kings 3-4; 2 Chronicles 1; Psalm 72
FridayPsalm 119:89-176
Saturday- Song of Solomon 1-8

Memorize/Reflect: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.” (Isaiah 6:3)

Personal Reflection: What were the behaviors of the people of Israel that led to their fall? How do these attitudes and actions show up in your life if you are not on your guard?

Discussion: How do you see God’s righteous judgment and His tender love both revealed in this chapter of The Story? What happened when Isaiah saw God and was confronted with His holiness?

Prayer Direction: Pray for eyes to see the holiness of God and a heart that melts in His presence. Tell God, “Here am I, send me!”

“Live It!” Challenge: Take a ten minute walk and ask God to meet you as you are quiet and wait on Him. Invite God to show you any place where sin, rebellion, pride, or any form of idolatry have crept into your life.

Monthly Prayer Focus: God speaks in many ways. Through the coming weeks, we will be learning ways to hear the voice of God. This week, focus on the reality that God convicts us by His Holy Spirit. Invite God to convict you in the areas you are rebelling or compromising. Then, pray for power to repent and submit to God’s will in your life.

Extra Resources for this week: Make sure you have a copy of The Story. Also, consider buying a copy of the book, Listening for God, by Marilyn Hontz. You might also want to read chapter six of Seismic Shifts, by Kevin Harney.

Small Group Resources for this week: Chapter 16 of The Story: Getting to the Heart of God’s Story (Adult Curriculum). You can purchase this 31-week study for 40% off at the Connections Center in the Shoreline lobby. (If you can’t afford this and are going to be part of a group, please contact Romel.)

Middle School Missions Trip

On May 24, 2012, in Middle School - EXIT, Students, by Exit

Hello parents!

The Middle School Missions trip is coming up soon – July 28th! Our missions trip is scheduled for July 28th – Aug 3rd where we will be driving to New Day Community Church in Stockton, CA and helping them with several projects around their church. If you have any interest or desire in sending your student with us, we would highly recommend signing them up ASAP.
Our missions trips are such an amazing way to become more involved with our youth group as well as serving different communities through the love of Jesus. Over the past several years, we have taken our students to various locations, from the Sacramento area to Oregon, helping and serving along side fellow churches who needed an extra hand. These trips have been some of the most memorable for both our leaders and students and we encourage you to sign your students up, knowing and having faith that they will be spiritually challenged and will see how serving others greatly impacts lives in so many ways!
When: July 28th – Aug 3rd
Where: New Day Community Church in Stockton, CA
Cost: $180
