Reading Plan for next week’s message
Sunday - Acts 2
Monday – Hebrews 10
Tuesday – Ephesians 4
Wednesday – Matthew 9
Thursday – Romans 12
Friday – 1 Corinthians 12
Saturday – Matthew 11

Memorize/Reflect: “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.” (John 13:14)
Prayer Direction: Invite the Holy Spirit of God to help you notice when there are daily service opportunities available to you as you walk through a normal day. Ask for a heart like Jesus that is willing to serve, even in very humble ways.
“Live It!” Challenge: AM Service Opportunity- Set a goal to do some small act of service in the first hour of your day, every day for the coming week. You might make a bed, bring someone a cup of coffee, or warm up a car on a cold morning. This decision to serve first thing in the day can set the tone for greater acts of service as you walk with Jesus for the rest of the day.

During our final week of Determination—deciding it’s worth it to finish what you’ve started—we learned that we should “Be the one who works hard because God sees your heart.” On Sunday, we looked at Colossians 3:23-24, which says: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” So whether it be doing chores or working hard in school, we should work for the Lord, with all our heart, knowing that it is God who we are serving.
Take a look at our new Parent Cue and God Time Cards for this week. They can be helpful for going deeper and for encouraging a daily quiet time for your kid.
The Parent Cue is also available on iPhone and Android devices. Search for the Parent Cue App by Rethink group to have these resources as close as your cell phone, computer, or iPad.

Reading Plan for next week’s message
Sunday - John 13
Monday – Mark 10
Tuesday – Philippians 2
Wednesday – Matthew 25
Thursday – 1 Peter 4
Friday – John 19
Saturday – John 20

Memorize/Reflect: “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” (Matthew 6:20)
Prayer Direction: Confess where you are living with tight-fisted greed in your heart and life. Identify one area you have a hard time sharing and take a tangible action of generosity…give something away.
“Live It!” Challenge: Get a pack of small round stickers and write these words on each sticker, “God’s stuff”. Then, place these on all the things you have that are hard to share and that you tend to hold onto very tightly. Once you have done this, try to live as if all these things belong to God…since they do!

During week three of Determination, we learned that we should “Be the one who sticks by someone in need.” This week we looked at the book of Ruth as she shows determination to stick with Naomi, even though it meant moving to a totally new country!
