Prayer Focus

On April 25, 2012, in Arts, by Music

This month I want our prayer focus to center around lifting each other up.  We have a great community of musicians and singers that make up our Music Ministry, and we need to constantly grow closer together.  Prayer for one another is a great way to do this, so I encourage you to pick one or two people on our team and pray for them throughout the month of April.  Pray that God would continue to grow and strengthen our team, and pray that God would continue to give us each a heart that is constantly growing in passion for worship.  Because we’re on stage, people can often mistakingly get the impression that we ‘have it all together.’  But we all know that we get tired, stressed, and challenged just like everyone else.  Let’s lift each other up!

Night of Worship | April 6th
Join us for a special Night of Worship on April 6th from 6:30-8 p.m. Note that it will be on the first Wednesday and not the third! We will have extra time singing songs of praise, we will dig into Revelation chapters 4-5, we will share communion, and we will meet the God who is looking for people who will worship in Spirit and truth! Don’t miss this great chance to connect with God and His people.

Giving Our Best to God

On May 6, 2010, in Arts, by Music

If you’re not already part of our volunteer Music Ministry team, we’d love for you to join us!  Our purpose in the Music Ministry is to help people connect with God through music. This includes both the congregation and the players/singers in the band!  At Shoreline, we want to give our very best to God during the worship services.  We have been blessed with wonderful resources and technology, and with that comes great responsibility.

You may have heard the expression about music quality or musician quality, “…it’s good enough for church.”  In our ministry, we try to rise above that and set the bar for what church music should be.  Centuries ago, it was music that was coming out of churches that set the standard for music in culture.  We’ve come a long way from that, but at Shoreline we don’t want to follow the trend of simply following culture.  As our ministry grows and moves forward, we want to encourage creative, artistic, and quality expressions of music in our worship times.  We feel that this will not only draw people in who may be skeptical about church, but also help our church family worship more freely.

We have a big job ahead, but that’s an exciting thing!  Join us each Sunday in lifting up our God as best as we possibly can.  He deserves nothing but our best, so let’s give it to Him!
