Shoreline’s High School Ministry is very proud and excited to start up the Student Leadership Team for the school year of 2009-2010. Student Leadership Team (SLT) is a group of students who are craving to dive deeper into their relationship with God. Through early morning bible studies to service projects around the community, the SLT is going to a year of growth and stretching for these students. Look for them every Sunday, serving in 2nd service at Shoreline, ushering and helping out in Children’s Ministry. These students have chosen to be held accountable in all areas of their lives and are looking for new ways to be challenged.
The SLT helps with C3 events and services with set up and tear down, flyers, production, and programing. We strive to give them every opportunity to impact their peers and people around them. The heart of the SLT is found in chapter 5 of the book of Matthew: “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” We strongly encourage students to live as lights to the darkness that surrounds them, whether that is their schools, sports teams, home life, or jobs. Through the teaching, correcting, admonishing, encouraging and strengthening, the SLT has a deeper impact on our Youth Group and in turn our church and community.
The year is capped off with a trip to Hume Lake Christian Camps’ Discipleship Camp, Wildwood. Wildwood is for students who wish to push themselves beyond the familiar into a world of exceptional devotion to God. Wildwood’s philosophy of stripping away the layers of falsehood and distraction is evidenced in daily interactions and candid discussions about student’s lives, struggles, and answering God’s call for deeper devotion to Him. Set in the back forests of Hume’s property, Wildwood emphasizes overcoming obstacles and learning to discipline oneself in response to the challenges of life. Wildwood is completely funded by our students’ own money, through fund raising, support letters, and jobs. We are so excited to start the year off right and change the lives of the students and world around us.
If you have any questions or want any more information about SLT or Wildwood, please contact Stephen Medina: smedina@shorelinechurch.org or 831.917.8765.

On September 12th, we are heading up to San Francisco to watch the Giants play the LA Dodgers. $45.00 pays for a ticket and a ride to and from the game with one of our outstanding volunteers. The game starts at 6:05pm, so in order to get there with enough time to get settled, we are meeting at Shoreline at 2:30pm. We should be back around 11pm. For more information about this or any of our events, contact Stephen Medina: 831.917.8765
