Middle School Missions Trip Update #3

On July 8, 2010, in Middle School - EXIT, Students, by Shoreline

Well day number 4 is going well and we have had over 40 kids in the programs so far today. It’s starting to get hot but we are all pretty adjusted to the 90+ degree weather now. In just a couple hours we will be heading out to several local parks to play with the kids and lead several bible clubs. Yesterday we spent time going door to door in the neighborhood around the church with information and offering to pray for any needs that the people may have. This was a huge challenge for the kids to step out and offer to pray for strangers. They experienced everything from doors slammed in their face to people opening up and asking for prayer for many issues. One of the best stories from yesterday was a man that when asked if he had anything that we could be praying for instantly began crying and shared that he had been praying for God to show him that someone cared for him. They prayed with him and he shared that he has been out of work and just felt alone for some time now. The pastor from the church we are working with has already visited with him and he is being connected with several other men within the church. We also have had many people that have simply been shocked that people would offer to pray for them. It’s been great to watch the kids go from being afraid to even knock on the door to being the ones offering to pray and praying with them. This trip has been great and I look forward to seeing what else God has in store for us here in stockton.
