Celebrate Recovery Connection!

On May 10, 2010, in Celebrate Recovery, by Community Life and Growth Ministry

Welcome to an AMAZING SPIRITUAL ADVENTURE!  Celebrate Recovery is all about experiencing God’s healing power in our lives as we learn to apply 8 Principles taken from Jesus’ words in the Gospel of Matthew.  Our fellowship opens the door by giving each a chance to share their experience, strength and hope.  We become willing to accept God’s grace in solving life’s problems.

Together, we learn how to apply Biblical principles, how to grow spiritually, and how to find freedom from our Hurts, Hang-ups and Habits.

As we progress through the Christ-centered 12 Steps, we grow together and as individuals, and discover that our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power, Jesus Christ, is indeed enough.

Join us for our times together:

Tuesday Nights : 6:30-8:30 p.m. Step Study Groups” in the fellowship center: An important part of the Celebrate Recovery program is our Step Study Groups. These groups are designed to help participants make progress in their recoveries by systematically working through the Christ-centered 12 Steps in a safe, same-sex, small group environment.  We gather together at 6:30 to worship, pray (1/2 hour) and then break up into our specific groups- There are Men’s and Women’s newcomer groups as well…

No child care on Tuesdays.

8:00 – 8:55 p.m.: Open Share Groups – same-gender, issue-specific groups where each person is encouraged to be open and honest about their struggles as well as their victories.  In order to keep these meetings safe and productive we follow the 5 Small Group Guidelines which are read at the start of each meeting:

Celebrate Recovery Guidelines:

1. Keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. Please limit your sharing to 3-5 minutes.

2. There will be no cross talk please. Cross talk is when 2 individuals engage in dialogue, excluding all others. Each person is free to express feelings without interruption.

3. We are here to support one another. We will not attempt to “fix” another.

4. Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group!

5. Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered group.
