Exit Service Project- valentines cards

On January 20, 2011, in Middle School - EXIT, by Andrew

Hey guys Saturday mornings are often filled with, well not much. So this Saturday January 22nd come out to Shoreline and help make Valentines day cards for our troops over seas and several local convalescent homes. Through these simple cards we can speak Gods love into peoples lives in a tangible and memorable fashion. If your like Pastor Andrew and have no artistic talent don’t be afraid you can make cards too! Simple, fancy, artistic, basic, odd, or funny all cards are well received and enjoyed. So instead of watch cartoons, or simply sleeping until noon, be at the youth room this Saturday to help show Gods love. Oh and we will get some yummy eats for lunch.

Saturday 10am – 1pm

Lunch Provided

“Sharing God’s Love” – Serve Saturday a big success!

On February 19, 2009, in Community Outreach, by CommunityOutreach

gateway-ss-groupCommunity Outreach Ministry’s Valentine’s Day project was a big hit.  We delivered cards that were hand made by several groups that included:

  • Shoreline Kids and Junior High School Students

  • Students from Monterey Bay Christian Academy

  • CSUMB’s Otter Christian Fellowship

  • Students from Henry F. Kammann Elementary School in Salinas

  • Women from the Seaside Homeless Shelter

First we sent off several packages with cards and candy for the troops overseas. 300 Valentines Cards were given to the  Monterey Meals on Wheels to deliver to seniors, the disabled and shut-ins. Community Outreach volunteers delivered cards to Dorothy’s Place and Victory Mission that serve the homeless population in Salinas. Another group of volunteers delivered Valentine’s cards to The Gateway Center and Monterey Pines Convalescent Home in Monterey.  A very special thank you to all our loving delivery volunteers, our creative card makers and to the organizations that opened their doors to us. Over 1,000 Valentine’s Day cards and a lot of smiles were shared that day and we feel blessed to be able to be part of it all.  Check out a few pictures from the day!
